AN sr20 can handle up to 24lbs of boost so 8-10 would be a cake walk. It can take it all day long.:D

well if your boy would do it for 300 bucks it might be worth it but if you pay someone to have your current block dilled for lines then it might be as much too... Isn't Serbans motor a jdm motor, I think it could take low boost like Russ said

My motor is a JDM one, Its only boosting 6psi right now, but I'm not going to push it too hard till I get the ecu. And I wont go any higher than 6psi until I go FMIC.

i have ran 10 psi through my US DE (9.5:1) even on 110 degree days on 91 octane, and its still running hard. i have been turbo'd for about 1 year and 15-20K miles. no problems with the engine (other than a dead knock sensor, unrelated though) whatsoever.
the transmission is a different story. if you do turbo it, my recommendations to prevent catastrophic transmission failure are:
1. No throttle on, hard shifts into 3rd. in fact, make sure it blows off boost before shifting into this gear, unless you are at the track and want a good time. these kinds of shifts are "in it to win it" kinds of shifts only.
2. No boosting over broken, or rough pavement in ANY gear, i broke 1st this way, a supposedly invincible gear.
3. if you have wheelhop, STOP FLOORING IT! back off, abort, and try again, it is NOT worth it. broken tranny cases aren't cheap. slicks are a great remedy for wheelhop.
4. Stay far away from the ACT Xtreme Pressure plate, this is also an "in it to win it" situation, where unless you are building a drag only car, dont do it. the ACT Heavy Duty works great, as does the JWT pressure plate with their new Organic/Ceramic disc. the stock disc sucks, hardcore. buy the JWT O/C disc. i am running the ACT HD PP with the JWT O/C disc, works great, with only very minor chatter, and only when you are slipping the clutch more than you should.
5. Buy some sort of solid motor mount kit, make sure to get all 4 (the ES 2 piece tends to kill the pass/tranny mount really fast). stock motor mounts will result in wheelhop. see above for wheelhop. i use the JWT kit, it is great due to ease of installation. you ES 4 piece boys know what i am talking about.
6. run redline's ultra heavy shockprrof. this is 150 weight oil and is great. someone had a cracked case they didnt know about and drained the entire tranny. he drove it for another 3000 miles before he noticed all the oil, fixed the case, refilled it, and the tranny is perfectly fine. oops.
thats about it for now.
