Damn... Hope my ACT doesn't tear up the DET. But then again, a car has to be running before it can be torn up, right!? :D

I am happy with my ACT HD. But in this case the ACT pressure plate didn't fail. It appears that just the STOCK OEM NISSAN clutch disc did. I thought those pics reminded me of the stock one so I dug my stock disc out of the closet. It's the same.

Clutch disc failures happen to a lot of people. They even happen on JWT clutch setups. My ACT kit just happen to come with that rare smaller disc that Jay Hassinger loved so much. He said he beat on that disc at the strip and when he finally turned up the boost so much that it slipped, it quickly recovered the same day!

Am I missing something? Why is the inside of your tranny case so oily? I have attached shots of when we replaced mine---there was nothing but clutch dust in the case...

That is a B15 disk...I'll never use one of those again....what do you guys think caused the disk to fail? And note all the blue spots on the pressure plate...maybe it got really hot? I'm trying to contact ACT and see if they'll waranty it, the clutch seemed kinda funkey from day one...later guys.

I wasn't aware that it was common for the B15 disc to fail???

Thanks Nick! The car is very clean on the outside and the inside. However, it has seen snow as evidenced by the underside of the car. All of the suspension pieces are rusted. Depending on what I end up doing with the car, they may all be replaced anyway. Then again, I might sell it and by a supercharged Civic Si.:D

I would venture to say your disk failed from the ACT PP i hate ACT.
Alls they have done for me is GRENADE 2 trannies and chirp gears
really easy. I run the JWT/B15 setup with not 1 problem. I would
never run any ACT Products again.

SENTRASER,
could you elaborate on the symptoms of your clutch prior to your replacing it? right now, i'm having problems shifting my car into 1st and 2nd without grinding the gears. i changed the clutch cable but that did not help for more than a couple of days. i believe my clutch is shot - it started feeling a bit "weird" a while ago. light clutch resistance, some vibration, etc etc. i'm thinking it's either the pp or the throwout bearing. anyone have an idea?

My 1st gear syncro went out, I dont think its due to the clutch though. Can you get into any other gears the same?

The reason you see oil in there, is when i installed my clutch and flywheel, i forgot to put that metal that is between the engine and tranny in there, so i made a slit in it, so I could slide it in there. Me being a dumbass, I made it on the top, and there was/is an oil leak and leaked some oil down in there. I'm thinking now that I may just have not adjusted the clutch correctly after breakin, all that dust in there is clutch dust, there were also pieces of metal everywhere and clutch material. I'm not really blaming the ACT clutch, I just dont want one again unless its free! Also when I took the tranny off I found that two of the bolts were loose, that may also be to blame, but I could be incorrect.
