Nothing you cannot get free on the Internet.

Maybe the maps they can provide you with are worth some $ but you never know and the maps are certainly NOT from whatever you may have in germany.

Not worth it.

How are you going to copy it? The stock code is not on a seperate prom. If it was, why would you need a daughter board to add a prom socket? If you pop open your computer you'll see two big fatty micros. One of them contains the stock code. Neither of them are any kind of industry standard micros. Food for thought, whoever makes 'em (its been a while since I opened my ecu, but if I remember correctly "JIC" was stamped on 'em, and if your looking for information on "JIC", good luck) also makes the micros inside some subie ecus. If I had to guess, the ecu design was probably not entirely an in-house Nissan job.

You know art not everyone on this site has read all the posts on here and when someone has a legitimate question, they shouldn't have to hear it from those of you that do nothing but read these posts.

that is my two cents and I am sure that it isn't worth quite that much.

The purpose of searching is so that there isnt a glut of redundant questions floating around in the archives to complicate searching for a real answer.

For example, search for the phrase "AWD". You'll see its at least a monthly dead horse.

Its all explained in the newbie section.

i always try to find answers to question with a search first but this topic was to coming up. maybe i was not using the right phrase or something, so instead of the normal quick posts to get your post count up how about pointing someone in the right direction.

Darren,

if you press the Search button on the top, enter ECU as keyword and select to search only in the SR20DE TECHNICAL CORNER forum, you will get all relevant threads.

Now, in the first 2 pages you will find at least 3 messages with ECU in their Title. One of them is yours with the Dual Program question (BTW, you never replied, why would you want the S4 AND the Turbo program?)

The remaining 2 are where the "meat" is...

Art was one of the main "arguers" in those threads and the reading issue has been beaten to death so his "not again" comment was not mean or anything...

Chris is right, my intention was not to be mean... maybe a little grumpy about the topic.
Anyway it's all right there in the links Chris provided and also check out the links off those links in his post.

It will give you a pretty good understading of what can and can't be done.

To answer your original question about the editing package
You probably want the 925style.com one called romeditor and the site will give you some useful roms if you're in japan, or get a hex editor and figure out what values in what address range you want to modify.

You're right about legitimate questions, if can answer them I will, but I am relative newbie to this anyway.
Also would like your answers handed to you on a silver or gold platter ?

thanks for the link chris, i think i scanned through the second one when searched before i asked the question. i probably would have asked the question anyway cause after reading both posts a few times i'm still a little fuzzy on the hole process. math and computer programs are not 2 of my strongest abilities. i think i'll leave the programming to the experts, i would not fell comfortable messing with ecu's if i didn't have someone to slap me around when i made simple mistakes.

if i'm stationed close to chris or art when i come back to the states how about i wash your cars for a few ecu programming lessons:D

art, i was being mean so i apologize
