Hey guys i need some help, for about 3 weeks now, if i shifted above 5000 RPM my car seemed to lag and then pick up and go, so i thought my clutch may be slippin and have been takin it easy since then until i get the money for the clutch....

now a new development....i changed my oil and Tuesday and everything is goin fine, until today.....i notice my light came on so i start to listen for things and watch things, the only thing i really noticed that happened was my car appears to be idling at about 1500 RPM now and i think i recall it idling closer to 900 before the light came on...any ideas what it could be

the only thing i can really think is it may be the Throttle Cable....any help would be much appreciated, thanks guys.

Sounds like you need to see what code the ECU has stored.

I doubt it's the throtle cable, but who knows. Just check to see that the cable is in good physical shape and opperates properly. Is it out of adjustment? Is it holding the throttle open? Other than that, I don't really see how the throttle cable could be causing your problem. It sounds more like a sensor issue to me.

There's a great write up on Timing and Idle Speed at:

Throttle Cable Adjustment:

There's a listing of ECU trouble codes for 200SX SE-R's on SE-R.net:
