At idle my AC compressor makes a clacking sound and it has leaked oil on it. We know the noise is coming from the air compressor. Can't afford a new compressor at this time so I'm wondering how hard is it to change the belt so that the AC isn't hooked up?

just pull your A/C fuse if you dont want your A/C to work..

The belt will still turn the compressor and it makes the noise even if the AC is turned off.
