: could moving battery to trunk hurt power production??

After reading the thread about the hyperground system, it would seem that movingthe battery to the trunk may be a bad thing for engine power. Think about it, if the grounding system makes more power by making a more direct link between the battery, chassis, and motor. If the battery is way in the back, there is no practical way to run a ground from the battery to the engine. Of course this setup relies on the chassis to carry the ground, but based on the gains from better grouning, it would seem that the chassis is not all that great for carying current, this problem may be exascerbated by the ground having to travle through about 15' of chassis instead of 2 or 3 feet.

Any ideas?

Trunk your battery. Get some zero gauge wire, ground it well in the trunk and be done with it. The battery is there only to start the car, power the interior light and a car alarm( if applicable). Gains from better grounding are bullshit. Clean up your factory grounds. That will do more than any earthing kit. If you think more grounds equals more power, then I have some 10hp decals, aerodynamically make your windshield faster.

Battery is in my trunk, never noticed a power loss...

You're thinking too hard.

For drag racing leave it up front.
For auto-X trunk it.

ROTFLMAO!!!! :D I couldn't agree more but sometimes wish I thought of the scam. I'd be living my dream of owning a Tikki bar in the Florida Keys by selling some wire, a few gold terminals and a block for $75+. This bullshit rivals the timing kits currently being sold on eBay but for 10x the price.

Clean up your existing grounds and save yourself some cash. Otherwise, feel free to donate to my Tikki Bar fund ;)

I am not sure about the ground thing. I will say however that I have my red top in the back. I get 14.5v up front at my dist. block and 14.3 in the back. This is at idle.

shit just be done with it .Battery's are heavy. I removed mine and I start my car with a pull cord that I bought of ebay. It came free with my 20+ air box mod for $ .39

No. Just run a ground wire to the front, you'll be just fine.

ground wires are suppost to be as short as possible, so running one to the front would be a no no. just buy good stuff, and ground it well, and you wont have any problems

My ground is about a foot long. I drilled a hole through the rear of the car where the battery is at, put a bolt through it and grounded the wire on it.

With the battery in the trunk, my ground is a foot long and connected to the threaded hole where the right rear seat belt retractor was once located. I also have a short ground under the hood from the block to the chassis. 14.7 volts strong.

While your at it, ditch that 2 ton box you call a battery and get a Hawker 12 lb. one. The infamous BAT battery that you pay $120-160 for is a rebadged Hawker battery, part # 0769-2007. Go to www.gotbatteries.com they're $69.95. If you have a bitchin' system, you might not want one of these. But chances are, if you have a bitchin' system vehicle weight is not a concern.

I have my battery in the trunk and love it. i drag and i like the choice of where i put it. more room for the air filter set-up i have and just out of the way since it's ugly and cramped.
