I've got a B13 SE-R w/GTi-R swap. My handbrake is quite loose. I need to adjust it. Anyhow after about 3-4 months after the car has been swapped and running i noticed when ever I went thru 1st and slammed 2nd the handbrake light would go on for a second then turn off. It did this for about a month and one day I hit 2nd and the light didnt go off. It's been this way for about 2-3 months. It goes off every once in a while but only for a few min. For the most part it wont go off. What the hell is the problem? Anyone got any ideas?

Check your brake fluid leval, also check the plug that goes into the master cylender and make sure its plugged in, I believe its ont he front of the master cylender so when you accelerate the fluid goes to the back and it sences that its low. Also there is a switch down inside the e-brake that sometimes needs to be bent around so it comes in contatct with the e-brake when its all the way down, take your center console off and tighten down the e-brake and adjust the cable. You should be able to pull it about 8 clicks and have it hold your car on a hill. Later

Check the 2 switches and wiring that kick on the light"Brake"- switch at the master cylinder and the switch at the handbrake lever.
Edit: Damn we almost said the same thing!
