Well after checking my original motor which was a roller rocker DE and checking a 98 SE-R block. I then asked someone I know what year they made the newer style 53J and thet said from 98 and newer. Anyway, these blocks 98 and newer are very easy to use to put a SR20VE or SR16VE heads on them. These blocks have the extra aluminum up top so one can drip the hole for the oil going to the selenoids. The best block to get would be the 2000-01 roller motor because it has the same cranck and rods as the VE. So if anyone with a VE tosses their rods or damages their block you know what to do.

so let me get this straight.. the roller motor block would be a direct fit for the VE head??? is that plain and simple what you said??? where can i get four or five of these VE heads with VVTL :) sh8t ill friggen get one tommorrow :) is there any thing else that would need to be retrofitted?

That depends how many HP your DE has!*LOL*

But my guess would be that since it is the only difference between the DE and the VE that it would have around 190HP after the swap! :)

I just want 11:1 compression and a JWT ECU...

For arguments sake let's say it's a simple bolt on affair. Where do you intend on finding a VE head?

Andreas at one point said he would sell a sr16ve head. Of course all the people before that point had been saying "where can I find just a head" Then no one bought the thing. Same story different day.

i offered him money for it, but he never got back to me. oh well

andreas must be a very busy man with all of us hounding him for info all the time.
