Props to the people but that is sacrillage. I see no point in a swap like that other that being a very idle and bored person

Yeah, I also saw it a few years ago. Got me thinking quite a bit of doing the same thing, but reality and the good ol' pocketbook stepped back and knocked some sense into me. Isn't the guy from Thailand or something?

Waste of an E36. Take all the money spent on the motor and chassis, put that into an E30 M3 (the real M3).

I saw this a few years ago, too, and I can see why they did it. This car started life as a 318, a base four-cylinder model. Outside the US where gas is more expensive and taxes are based on displacement, "executive" sedans with smaller engines are more popular. They want Benz, Bimmer, or Audi bling with maximum fuel economy.

Benzes (like the 190) are used as Taxis in some places. A BMW 318 is fairly plain.

I guess Thailand, like the rest of SE Asia and Australia, has access to reasonably priced JDM parts. If that's the case, a DET would be a lot cheaper than a BMW I-6. Plus, you have the easy DET boost potential.

my friend says he would put a rock through the windshield if he ever sees it on the street. He must be jealous :D

It might be hard to throw a rock at the windshield when all you see of the Beemer is it's taillights. :D

He'd have to catch him first. Hehehe!

You could not touch the power of the DET with the same money in a E36 M3 motor. Those dyno at 230whp modded. DET has much more potential for the money spent. I think it would be fun to kick some m3 but with a sr20det. Don't get me wrong the E36 M3 engine is nice. I have tons of respect for the car.
