Hi guys, i need help. My car doesn't want to start unless i pump the gas pedal. I took it to the shop and they said its the fuel pump(which is a TTZ and only 1 1/2 yr old) The mechanic said that the car was only getting 15psi of fuel pressure when tested. What do you guys think? This is what i have bb motor, TTZ fuel pump, stillen filter, and front mount intercooler. I almost sounds like its the maf but i swapp with a good one and it's not it. I also checked for vaccum leak and pretty sure their isn't any. Any suggestions.

sounds like the idle air control valve may not be giving your engine any air for idling. try cleaning it and the throttle body.

15 psi is really low. I'd check the fuel pressure myself to make sure they did it correctly.

yeah, 15 psi is engine blowing up low. check the plugs too, to make sure that your pump didnt go, and take your motor with it.

How do you clean the idle air control valve anyway? this'll be my first. But i'll get to the throttle body right away and i'll let you guys know how it went.

I think I have the same problem. I found that if you give it 1/3 gas steady till it fires then back off it starts right up. Whats your vac at when it starts? My vaccum registers at around 13-14 until the car is warmed up then it's steady at 18 or so. Until it registers the 17-18in of vac, it bogs like shit and doesn't want to get above 1500rpms. Does yours do the same?

As for mine i have to constantly pump the gas in order to keep the motor alive. Now today i found out that the mechanic said that the fuel pump i ordered will not work cause of the regulator built inside(??????). So decided to bring the car back and do it myself. The up thing is, he's charging me 200 bucks just to freaking diagnos the car and thats crap!!!!
