I just got some monroe struts for my car not know that i would "need" all the miscellaneous goodies , such as the strut boot and up/low spring seat, to install the struts. I looked at the struts on it now and the up/low spring seat and bumbstop and boot seem to be in ok condition. Is it really essential to replace the components? by the way my car has almost 100k miles.

If you replace anything, get a pair of new strut "thrust bearings." They're small rotating washers found only on the front assemblies - when they go bad, they pop and make a large general racket over bumps.
