: Nismo FPR and gauge
autoxer7 12-18-2002, 02:52 AM As far as I can tell the Nismo FPR part number is 22670-RR580. It also looks like it does NOT come with a gauge so I'm interested to hear what gauges you guys are running.
Since I'm going to be ordering the MSD ignition and switches from Summit I might as well pickup a gauge as well. Also, if you look in this thread (http://www.sr20deforum.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=30813) you can see pics of Andreas's 200+ hp DE with FPR and gauge installed. I'd like to do something similar.
Thanks,
Steve

Yep. I'm using a small VDO gage installed inline using barbed fittings and clamps.

Something like this fitting (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=30) and this gauge (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=9741)?
The fitting has 3/8" barbed ends. Is this the right size?
Thanks,
Steve
98sr20ve 12-18-2002, 12:13 PM That would do it. I just bought 3 gauges from www.egauges.com. Should come soon. They also sell VDO.

Shit!!!!! I wish I had known such a fitting existed when I chose to install my gage. Would have made life soooo much easier :o

From reading elsewhere on sr20deforum it looks like the right size is 5/16". I was only able to find one place that has a fitting with this size requirement.
See this page (http://www.flatlanderracing.com/carbsbb.html) part number 10400. It accepts a 1/8" NPT fitting for the gauge.

sonnypippo 09-16-2003, 02:42 PM sorry to bring this thread back, but can someone list all the necessary parts/sizes for installing a gauge with the nismo fpr?

SteveSteve- did you use this part with success? are the ends barbed?

Yes, the ends are barbed and I'm using it without problems.

sonnypippo 09-16-2003, 04:10 PM thanks. did you order from that site? looks like you need $30 minimum there...

I'm pretty sure that's the only thing I ordered... certainly never encountered the $30 minimum. Shipping was probably just as much as the fitting, though. Total cost including shipping was on the order of $12-13, IIRC.
MIVEC 09-16-2003, 07:17 PM Pardon my ignorance but how would a NISMO FPR benefit me ?
sonnypippo 09-16-2003, 08:27 PM thanks... i'll give it a try. one more question... where do you tee the gauge? in the line going to the FPR or the line going to the fuel rail?

So if I get that gauge and that fitting, I don't have to get any other fittings, right? The gauge screws into the adapter? Thanks!

No. You want the 5/16" not the 3/8".
sonnypippo 09-18-2003, 08:59 AM just curious if the using the 3/8" fitting will affect fuel pressure? or will the hose not even fit?
david 09-18-2003, 10:40 AM From my exeperience putting fuel lines on my car, the 3/8" will fit and you can use hose clamps to make it tight but it is in no way a snug fit.
The 5/16" is a nice snug fit.
Crono1321 09-18-2003, 11:21 AM Ok, so you are saying I need to get the one from your page, "Flatlander" that is 3/8size, and it has a 1/8 size fitting for a gauge? I'm confused, sorry. I really don't understand this fitting thing, it makes me nervous. I went through it with my turbo setup too.

I think what he was asking, was if the 3/8 fitting will work with the 5/16th hose. Not a 3/8 hose with a 5/16 fitting. I bought a 3/8 adapter, and I'm going to see if I can get it to work.
