People suck... I got a nice surprise this morning when I went out to go to work. My '96 got "smashed and grabbed" over the night. They broke out the passenger side window, got in the car... rummaged through everything, and took my head unit. Oh F!!! and took my Patlabor soundtrack CD. They DO SUCK!! Crap, that was a real Japanese CD. Those things cost money and the guy probably will just toss it out his window once he get's it out. Damn them! To compound this fun day 10 times over... it just finished raining here... it had been raining very hard for the last 3 or 4 hours. I have no pass window (well I do, but it's laying underneath the car all shattered (just held together by the tint film). Anyways, I'm gonna have fun today! Oh boy! ugh.

Damn Brad, I am sorry to hear that. Did you have a nice cd player or something? I just cant figure out why they would pinpoint your se-r out of the whole complex?? Sorry to hear it again. If there is anything I can do please feel free to call me,

Thanks guys...
I figure it was probably done by High School kids. They smashed the window out, took my really nice Alpine CD player and 20 or so of my CD's, but left my $400 sunglasses and my $800+ worth of tools in the trunk. The only thing I can think of is a) they're morons and b) they must of thought I had a big system with amps and subs instead of just a nice CD player and good speakers.
I decided not to issue an Insurance claim as it doesn't make much sense after you figure in the deductable and the increased rates I'd be charged. I did file a police report though and they dusted for finger prints. The really crappy part is it rained all this morning, so my car was very wet. It's drying out now... one of my favorite CD's was stolen (the Patlabor one). That's like a $40 CD. So I'm out those items plus $107 for the replacement window which I just finished putting in.
I almost left my wallet in there last night, but Heather told me to go down and get it... which I did (thankfully) before we went to bed for the night.

Jesus, Brad. Really sorry to hear that. I know how you feel, years ago someone did the same thing to my car. Turned out to be little HS punks. They couldn't manage to steal the car, despite ripping out the ignition, so they decided to trash it instead.
Sounds like you need to come to the geek out, even if it's just to drink some beer.
It's really sad when people think they have the "right" to do crap like that. I say catch em, burn their nuts off, then throw em in jail to become someone's bitch.
Later,

Thanks again guys... it's really appreciated.
I figure it had to be a kid because they didn't have enough sense to take the really expensive things in the car. As nice as my Alpine was, it was 3 or 4 years old now. I had been thinking about replacing it anyways so I could get one that played MP3 disks. Because of this though, I'm not going to put anything into the cars and won't be replacing the CD player until I move out of this complex. No point in giving them a reason for a return visit.
As far as why they didn't take the Si, the only thing I can guess is that because they were probably HS kids, they didn't know how to hotwire a car. They just knew how to do a smash and grab. As you guys all know, the Si is striped down and pretty empty. Unless they wanted the car itself, there's really nothing to steal.
damn... sorry to hear that man. well when you go to replace the radio im down to help.
