Hey dudes.

Just wondering if anyone has installed or knows of someone who uses the Zex Nos kit.

Can get em here in Australia for about $900, id be putting it in a Pulsar SSS (sr20de).

So im just wondering what power gains i would be looking at.

Cheers

zex kits have different jettings for nitrous...it depends on the jets. i believe they have 55, 65,75...or something like that. check their website @ zex.com

go with nitrous express......theyre by far the best....and you can get bigger shots than 125...zex only goes up to 125 unless you get it "specially adjusted"

if you want a simple dry nos kit then zex kits are nice and easy to install, ryan

I have heard good things about ZEX kits. The only thing I do not like about it is that the nitrous comes in gradually. I love it when I juice my car and BOOM all the nitrous at once. The pull is incredible. I personally like NOS nitrous kits. I would not go any other way! NOS kits ar the best IMHO!

Thats $900 australlian, right? You can find used kits here in the states for $300 - $350 all day (thats us dollars)

By the way, "Zex Nos kit" is kind of an oxymoron. NOS is a company, "nitrous oxide systems" so you can't really have a nitrous kit made by 2 different companies :D

The basic zex dry kit is adjustable from 55-65 i believe. Remember that thats rated at the flywheel, and not the wheel like NX and NOS hp ratings.

If you just want a little n2o to spool a turbo and cool the intake charge, or just a little boost of power, zex is the way to go. Zex also offers a wet kit now.

NOS makes good stuff, but their basic kits aren't great. The normal solenoids are very small, and prone to failure (ask anyone who doesn't use the "cheater" noids how many noid rebuilds they've gone through).

My setup consists of NX EFI Wet Kit, NX Warmer, NX Remote Opener and NX purge. I'm *very* pleased with the quality of their products. Installation was a breeze and I've never had a single problem.

Just make sure and get some plugs that are a degree or two colder, and retard the timing a degree if you want to be extra safe.

Yep $900 Ozzie bucks for a Zex kit.

Whats the difference...benifits of a wet or Dry system?
I have no idea,lol.

In one of our car Mags down here (Fast Fours) a guy put a zex kit on his N15 SSS Pulsar, running 55hp shots.
The Pulsar was completlly stock at 67Kw@wheels. With the Zex kit, 101kw@wheels.

Thats a big gain on an N/A sr20de.

Also just wanted to know how big a Hpshot could a FWD sr20de take? As the N14 SSS Pulsars dont have an LSD, and i can picture all this power not gettin to the ground.

Thnx for feedback dudes

Difference between wet and dry is how the extra fuel is delivered. In a wet kit, fuel and n2o are sprayed into the intake together, in a dry kit, only n2o is sprayed, and then extra pressure is applied to the fuel pressure regulator, increasing rail pressure, causing injectors to dump more fuel.

Btw, its "shot" not "shots" its one single sustained shot, unless your using a progressive controller. When you active the system, it simply opens the solenoids and allows the n2o (and in the case of a wet kit) fuel to flow into the intake stream.

My friend spray 150hp on a USDM SR20 in a 120K+ mile 1992 Sentra SE-R. Car ran the best times on the 100shot (huge traction problems). Best of 8.1 in the 1/8th on the 100shot.

Zex is an easy way to go. It won't get you as much power as a wet kit. I bought my Zex kit for 300. I couldn't pass up the deal. If you go over to www.club-si.net, several people have used them. I haven't used mine yet, it will be in by the summer.

stay away from ZEX, you will blow your shit up. trust me, i lost my first SR20 to a ZEX kit. stick with a wet kit, its just as easy as the dry kit, but so much more safe, get the NX kit, and have fun and be safe. don;t go cheap on something like nitrous, its will end up costing you more in the end.

ZEX depends on boosting fuel pressure to get additional fuel. If you do the math, on a 55 hp shot via ZEX, that's about 180 whp through the stock injectors, which is cutting it close. I would think if you STAYED with a 55 shot, you will be fine. But if you bump up to 65 or 75 shot, you're injectors will not be able to provide fuel for that.

With my wet kit, I'm running 125 horsepower shot through a bone stock internal motor, handles it fine.

yeah to bad i didn't find that out before i sprayed a 75 shot.
