Well now here we are blokes with the proverbial contest between 2 light weight cars. I still have not gotten my NX repaired (it goes in later this week), but I still remember how much fun it was to drive. I only have owned it for 9+ years. I really needed a car though as the shop that's fixing my NX is a restoration shop and they will take 2 to 3 times longer. Yes, I have already been told I am crazy, yet I am sure many of your share the same ideals about proper fixing of ones little baby... To the point... I found an outstanding red 1990 BMW 325is and acquired it for $4,565.00. It needs a little work, but overall it's great! The truth is, my NX is more fun. The shifting is far superior and it just feels like it's better at sending the information needed to know what's going on below the 4 rubbers. Granted, the BMW has much better seats and a high quality interior, plus it's got a pretty smooth 6, but I'm still addicted to my little "over easy" egg. I'll post more as I drive and fix the Bimmer. The BMW is very easy to work on and the NX is pretty close.

BMW = The ultimate driving machine.
NX = The ultimate flying egg.

My brother has a 87 325is. Fun car. Looks really nice when cleaned up. As for power, I rather the NX. The 325 is tight and the body integrity for a car thats 15 years old is good, but the NX just has that free revving motor that the is lacks.

Cossie, you familiar with the M3 killa' that BMP built. IIRC, it's the 325e bottom end, 325is head with a port polish. I believe the diesel crank was an option, but not necessary. More hp, way more torque. It's in an issue of Grassroots, or check BMP's website. Cheaper than an M motor. Check out www.bensrallypage.com , there's a 325ix Dinan Turbo for sale.

Hell yes bloke! I know about the BMP car. It's a bit of a nice monster. I'm just going to sort out the strange sloppy bits on the 325is and add a little power. I just drove my damaged NX around the front of the house and I miss it! I drop it at the repair shop tomorrow or Monday. It's going to finaly be fixed. :D I already have a long list of stuff for the Bimmer. You blokes know how that addiction goes. Get car... look at car... look at what needs to be done... redefine the word "needs"... make really long list of stuff... start saving money... Spend money... etc...

UPDATE: Well I still have the red 325is and my NX is finally being worked on. I hope it comes out ok. :( So 2 days after I got the red BMW, this bloke that I have been trying to reach for weeks calls me . He has a black 95 318ti and I wanted it the whole time I was shopping. So he says it's still for sale and I get my family to assists in the purchase. Now I have to state that the 325is is faster, but this 318ti is GREAT! It will also look great next to my black NX. I have to sell the red 325is now, which is hard to do, but who needs 3 cars? As performance goes, the NX is still the most fun as it is very raw and precise. The "ti" is fun to toss around also as it is light and well balanced and the 325is is quick. As a second car to any NX owner, I would suggest looking for a $5,000 318ti. Thanks for the ear.
