Well, if you're talking about cluth discs, sprung ones will be easier on the tranny.

Sprung is definatly better than unsprung hub on clutch disks, the sprung hub has more "give" to the clutch, an unsprung hub acts as an "on/off" switch and puts a lot of stress on your tranny. If you want a mix between the two, you can go to http://www.clutchnet.com and order a 6-puck sprung hub disk, about $125 from them. Hope this helps your decision making skills a bit, ;) that is the setup I'm going to go with when I do my clutch for turbo.

Without a shadow of a doubt, SPRUNG HUB for a street car.

i guess its just everyones opinion but i am using a act 6 puck unsprung and an extreme pressure plate as a daily driver. granted its alittle hard to pull out in a hill without spinning but there's nothing like being able to chirp 5th gear at 3000 rpm. useless yes but everyone i know loves it

I have the Clutch Specialties organic unsprung disk and its fine for street driving. When I first had it in it would chatter a bit but now its really smooth with about 500 miles on it . As for harshness on the tranny its been ok so far and has yet to slip. I think how you shift has alot more to do with how long your tranny is going to last then what type of clutch is in it. ;)
