I want to install this digital electrical water temp guage but the sender is a different thread than my coolant temp sensor. the sensor is a thermistor just like the sender that only uses one wire that works on resistance depending on heat. I'm tinkink of splicing the sensor wire and run it to the guage. Has any body tried this? I've seen classics at the convention with these guages. can any body who's done this share their output?

I dont know if you splice the wire it if will work. but what many people do with the mechanical one is drill and tap the water spout that comes out of the head, right before the radiator hose goes into the radiator.

copy and paste that link, if you look all the way to the left in the center, you can see the sender, and the wire attached to it. thats the best pic i have as an example.
