: 15" vs 17"
Zexel 12-31-2002, 12:42 AM Alright, I'm stumped. I have 17's right now and they match the color of my car. All of my friends love my car to death since the wheels match (Charcoal on Gunmetal sorta theme). Anyways, I scuffed one of my wheel lips on a curb...can't blame the ice really...but I was thinking of fixing my wheel and selling them and getting some B14 SE-R wheels. Now here's the thing...It's going to be hard as hell to find some SE-R wheels in good shape. I'm sure they can be pretty used up and I can fix them a little, but a little work never hurts. I really want to stiffen my suspension up REAL good if I get the SE-R wheels. I got a cool 600 or so in the bank right now, I figure I can get around 500 out of my current wheels (Basically new), so that leaves me with around a grand+ to mess with. I was thinking of SE-R wheels and GC/AGX setup. Maybe a few strut braces and sway bars (Recommendations?) and my car will be good to go. Little weight reduction and hell yeah! I was going to pair up the SE-R wheels w/ some Falken Azeni's since that seems like it's the most praised tire here...with others but this one just seems to overtake all. Anyways, I was just seeing what you guys thought about this and maybe where I could find some B14 SE-R wheels. I like the show quality look of my 17's w/ my paint, but I would just rather have a badass suspension setup. So what do you guys think...sound like a plan? I just want to see some of your guys opinions on the subject and maybe some PICTURES. I know there are tons here but maybe some recent ones...all these damn servers and odd uploading services blow cack. Thanks again for ANY opinions etc!!
qinsac 12-31-2002, 01:46 AM Shop around in this forum, plus the Nissansforum.com. You might be able to find those b14 SE-R rims. As far as suspension, check out Ground Control coilovers. If you want a basic setup, you can go with Eibach Pro Kits 1.5 drop with KYB's GR2's that would save you some money to purchase STB's and maybe upgrade the brakes. Good luck.:)

Not to get to technical here but I believe it is 1.4 in drop for a B14. B13s springs are different.
But my opinion...
Get Ground Controls with AGX. They ride much better that what I have, Pro Kit with AGX. It's just a better feeling with my experience.
Victorious 12-31-2002, 08:26 AM You can still have the best of both worlds. Some light weight 15" rims and some "BLING BLING".:D
Why not get some15" Rota C8's in black with the polished lip. You can still have the show look with some light rims. If you look around I'm sure you can find some for about $400 shipped.
OnyxEros 12-31-2002, 08:54 AM If you are not going with the ground controls please ask around about the difference between H&R and Eibach.
Please
I did a search and found that H&R's are a superior ride than anything short of eibach race springs.
If the link above it to andris and his set-up for sale please pay attention

Zexel 12-31-2002, 10:59 AM Victorious - I was considering getting some Konig Helium, 15" 10.5 lbs I believe. But the reason for my selling my wheels is to make a profit and get my suspension. Or I would definately get some!!
Qinsac - If the Eibach's gave me a drop that I liked...w/o that high front, I would rather get those w/ GR2's, because I need new brakes anyways, AD22VF!!!...But I don't know how that drop REALLY is. Haven't seen any pictures of it to be honest. I'll search around for a picture though.
Aztec - Thanks for the link. I'll check it out right now!
Oh, and for every that recommended the Ground Controls w/ AGX...notice I put GC/AGX combo up in my first post. Not to be an ass just to let you guys know!
Soupaflie 12-31-2002, 12:04 PM The GC/AGX suspension rides 10 times better than Eibachs or H&R's with AGX's. I've had both and would gladly spend the extra for teh GC's.

The Heliums are not strong at all. THere have been many cases of breaking or bending. I was looking into them and thats what i found.
Try the rotas they look alomst the same and are twice as strong.
I might have some b14 rims for sale soon i will keep you updated.
MaddMatt 12-31-2002, 10:33 PM 1 grand?
B14 wheels: $200
195/50/15 Potenza S0-3: $300
Find some of the B13 Hypercoil springs: $250??
Get a rear adjustable sway bar: $200
BAM! Good handling street car. Not to be confused with a good handling race car. I love my Ground Controls, but linear rate springs SUCK for a daily driver.
Pictures, huh? OK

Zexel 01-01-2003, 11:56 AM But my question is...should I do it? Again, I have a GA16 and I'm going to swap in an SR over summer...so it's not like I'm going super fast right now anyways. Rota's would be nice though. Right now I have enough to practically get my AD22VF conversion (which I NEED), maybe some GR2's and Eibach's or Susp. Tech. springs or something. Hypercoils would be pretty sweet too, heard some good things about those. I also need a paint job so I don't know if I'm going to fool with my suspension, maybe just my brakes. So anyways, do you guys think I should do it or just wait until I have enough money to do EVERYTHING...brakes, GC/AGX, SE-R wheels, ETC.??
CarloSR 01-01-2003, 12:40 PM It really depends on what ure looking for. Make a list of your ride priorities. As for the suspensions:

Stirpicult 01-02-2003, 03:48 PM do not comprimise. youll hate yourself later on. decide what you want and take your time to save up to get it. dont get the gr2s if you want the agxs, dont get the prokits/hrs/etc if you want the gcs. i got crappy sustechs forever ago because i didnt feel like waiting for the gcs. and now i am stuck. my next move should be an adjustable rsb, but itll probably be the gcs. bad choices now will hurt you later on when you want/need something else. i would get rid of the 17s (bad choice number 1), decide what you want for long term in wheels, buy it, then save up more for what you want next.
coach 01-02-2003, 03:57 PM I had the susp. tech springs and GR2 combe for a long time and I loved how the car drove. I now have the Gen2 Hyperco with AGX. I would say, buy the AGX no matter what cause they can be used with the drop springs or the Ground Controls. Get the rota 15's with the Potenza S0-3 and you are set. Then you have choices for spring and rear bar later.

Zexel 01-02-2003, 05:32 PM I think (Not 100% yet) that I am going to be selling my 17's and getting B14 SE-R wheels almost for sure...but not positive yet. I will also more than likely get the AGX no matter what, and some Gen.2 Hypercoil Springs. I think there was a group buy that went down w/ these not too long ago, maybe they have some that they didn't sell. I'll search and get more info about 'em. I'll also go to Ptuning and check out the Progress Rear Sway. Either that or ST's Adj. Rear Sway. I'll get searching on that HyperCo. 2nd Gen. group buy thing. Later and thanks!
