: Eibach part II
Rittmeister 10-10-2001, 07:50 PM Okay, sorry guys next question (STUPID question):
I bought the springs used (very low miles, no worries) and have no idea which are the fronts and which are the rears. How do I tell them apart?
Help me!
Thanks

The progressive springs (the coils are closer together at one end) are the fronts. The springs where all the coils are equally spaced are the rears.

Serban 10-11-2001, 02:03 PM grailer: you have it the other way around, the ones that are equally spaced, are the fronts, and the ones with the coils bunched up are the rears.

Gotcha - thanks for the correction. I recall making the mistake when I first put them on many years ago, but guess I remembered my mistake incorrectly! <g>

Thanks - not bad for a 198k one-owner. The pic was from almost two weeks ago at Watkins Glen.

Eibach tech assistance answered the question and you are correct on tighter wound in rear.
The easy answer is the spring ending with a 1 in the part no (printed on the spring) is front, part no ending in 2 is rear on all Eibach springs. (install letters/numbers upright)
