: Trunk release problem
1BAD_NX 10-14-2001, 03:08 PM hey, any of you guys having problem with your trunk release? my Nx release lever works only if its being held by some object(or if I hold it and let someone open it). But the gas release works fine. Anyone fixed a problem like this?? I'll appreciate any comments.
TIA,
Nick
Super easy fix for that. Pull off the trim by the lock mechanism in the hatch area. You will see that the latch is held by two bolts. Loosen the bolts and raise the latch a little. Tighten them down and shut the hatch. If it releases you got it, if it doesn't then repeat procedure until you have it right.
Good Luck,

1BAD_NX 10-14-2001, 05:17 PM Thanks Matt, I hope it works *** Im sick and tired of the hussle with this damn trunk, I'm gonna work on it tomorrow. Hey I noticed you got a 91 DET on your sig., so is it a BB or GTir? I'm bout to do a BB swap in about a month and would love to hear how you like yours.
Thanks again,
Nick
I have a BB in the classic that I am just finishing up. Its not on the road yet but I started it up and it runs http://www.sr20deforum.com/NonCGI/smile.gif So far so good. It would be a lot easier if someone made a kit that mad it all a bolt in though. The easy part was swapping the engines, the hard part for me was fabricating all the piping and intercooler stuff. I ended up ordering up some mandrel bends and fabbing up a setup from them. Let me know if you have any questions.

Oops Nick, sorry about the bad info, I meant to say to lower it but I had a few drinks in me LOL http://www.sr20deforum.com/NonCGI/smile.gif I paid $1450 for the motor from a guy in Ohio who had it in his classic for about 6k miles. He wanted to build an Impreza turbo wagon (July 2000, before the new ones were out). I also paid him $450 for the JWT ecu. On top of that I bought the UR 4 pulley set, Fidanza flywheel, ACT clutch setup, Greddy Type S bov, Blitz SSBC, Starion IC, custom pipes, silicone couplings, new water pump, a few gaskets, and some other misc stuff.

1BAD_NX 10-16-2001, 12:44 AM damn, my trunk finally opens by itself now http://www.sr20deforum.com/NonCGI/smile.gif It never worked even when I bought it 2and a half years ago, I should've asked this long ago. I loosened the bolts that hold the latch and had to drop it just a bit (raising it didn't work for me). Mad props to Matt!! http://www.sr20deforum.com/NonCGI/wink.gif

I too would like to do my own swap but I have no garage and my buddies are just as broke as I am and they all live in condos or appts. http://www.sr20deforum.com/NonCGI/frown.gif So I guess my only option is to pay some shop to do the dirty job. Matt good luck with those pipings and hope you hit the road soon with your DET. And I would really like to know where you got your engine and what kind of shape its in, and maybe even the cost if you don't mind me asking.
TIA,
Nick
1BAD_NX 10-16-2001, 07:50 PM wow, I think you got a pretty nice deal on that engine. maybe I'll see you out somewhere when I get my DET and we'll see how our turboed classics put up http://www.sr20deforum.com/NonCGI/smile.gif
Good luck,
Nick
