: B14 Wheel will not fit B13, Bull Shit!
Blackbird 01-10-2003, 07:05 PM I took out my B13 wheel, had some new tires, 195-65-15 with the B14 rims on, they will not fit in the rears. This is bull shit, the tires rub into the rear strut the cup the held the springs. I saw several guys with the B14 wheels on them, Mine is a 91, is it an odd ball year.
If I go up to 205 and 50 true it will be lower, but the wide size will rub into the struts in the rear. What, is my tire guy stupid or what.
AztekSE-R 01-10-2003, 08:02 PM you could get a wheel spacer right?
BenSR20DE-T 01-10-2003, 08:59 PM the tire you bought is too high for your ride and it has a different rolling diameter. that could be dangerous and it'll change your speedometer. on b14 wheels stock size is 195/55/15. guys here have had no probs putting that in there se-r's. either ya go 55 or 205/50 to keep it the same rolling diameter.
Hawaii_SE-R 01-10-2003, 09:43 PM I use 195/50 15s on my car

Blackbird 01-10-2003, 11:01 PM Thank you fellas, you guys have more knowledge than mine 200 dollars tire idiot guys.
Do you need the spacer to mount a 195-50 15s?
Hawaii Bro!, are you sure just the tires will fit on no problem? What if you hit a bump, will it rub or bend the fenders?
eric96ser 01-10-2003, 11:12 PM 195-50s will work 0 problems. Some 205-50s are too wide. I have 195-50-15 Yokohama ES100s and they don't rub or hit anything. No spacers here either.
Blackbird 01-10-2003, 11:20 PM thanks Eric!
Serban 01-10-2003, 11:45 PM whoa....195/65 tires...yikes, look out for Bigfoot SE-R! :D
NismoPC 01-11-2003, 12:00 AM Damn! 195-65-15. What the hell were they thinking. My stock G20 has 195-65-14. Stock B13's are 185-60-14. Those tires gotta be tall.
Go here for the correct fitment:

And listen to these guys with the 195-50-15. That is the best size tire to keep the speed percentage error to a minimum.

LMFAO!!!:D
Bro you need smaller tires. Hopefully the place you bought them from will exchange them for you.
chriscar 01-11-2003, 11:29 AM 195/65/15 is SOOOO wrong, the fools who sold them to you should be shot. If you've never heard of it, there's something called the PLUS concept. This is from back in the 80's when most of you guys were riding your Big Wheels (check out the new one, if I had a boy, I'd buy it for him) (http://www.toysinthemail.com/images/razor-scream-machine-1.jpg). The PLUS concept allows you to keep the same overall tire diameter when upgrading to larger wheels. The advantages are, your speedo will be accurate, and you won't have to worry about rubbing unless the width is too great (or the rim offset is wrong).
Here's how it works, for every additional inch of wheel diameter, you add 10mm to the tire width, and subtract 10 from the aspect ratio (AR). What's aspect ratio? Glad you asked, that's the 60 in 185/60/14. It means that the sidewall height (from the ground to the tire bead is 60% of the tire width. So a 185/60 has a sidewall height of 185mm * .60 = 111mm. Stay with me here, almost done.
Say you want to upgrade from the stock B13 SE-R 185/60/14 to 15" B14 rims. An excellent choice and one of the best looking rims to put on your B13 in my humble opinion. So, we go from 185 to 195 width (there's your 10mm), from 60 to 50 AR (there's your -10 AR), and 14" to 15" rim.
Summarized as follows
Stock 185 / 60 / 14
Plus 1 195 / 50 / 15
Plus 2 205 / 40 / 16
Keep in mind that actual tire size does not always measure exactly the same as their markings, but sticking to the rules will get you as close as possible. There will be differences in width between manufacturers, and even between different models in a manufacturer's product line.
Here's a link (http://toy4two.home.mindspring.com/tire.html) to an awesome website which illustrates the concept to the tee, and provides links to Tire Rack.
Plug the numbers into that calculator and you'll see that those 195/55/15's have a diameter of 634.5mm compared to 577.6mm stock. That’s a huge difference. The result is your speedometer is off by nearly 10%, and it'll be reading 76.9mph when you're going 70.
Like the kid says on the Mountain Dew commercial "You got hosed".
Print this out, show it to the tire guys and ask them what they think about it. Oh, you might want to delete the part where I said they should be shot. :)

Blackbird 01-12-2003, 11:43 AM You're right, these fuckers should be shot. Idiots...
B13SentraXE 01-12-2003, 06:55 PM Hey, thanks chriscar. I'm going to get some 16's and was wondering what tire size to go with.
DEAD SE-RIOUS 01-13-2003, 04:40 AM Me and several of my team mates are currently running 205/50/15's on our b14 rims and they work just fine ABSOLUTELY NO RUBBING WHAT'S SO EVER. Whe're using toyo, and falken tires without any modifications(spacers) Hope that helps some!
Blackbird 01-13-2003, 08:39 PM Just mount the new wheels, 195-50, WOW! These baby are perfect fit, like a condom. Just a joke!
thanks you guys. They B14 15s do look awsome for a stock.
chriscar 01-13-2003, 08:49 PM You work fast Grasshoppa. :)
What's the story behind the tires, did the knuckleheads take back the 195/65's?
Chris

I too am running 205-50-15 Falken Azenis on B14 rims on my B13. No problems at all - no rubbing, speedo/tach exactly the same as stock rims/tires.

Don't be too confident about that. There is a slight variation (1/4" in overall diameter) but not enough to cause major concern.

very well said chriscar. but in my opinion i belive its plus 10mm for the tire width, plus 5 for the aspect ratio(which is also known as the "profile" of the tire, for every inch u upgrade on the rim. example
185/60/14...195/55/15...and so on and so on
