thanks guys..nice info on the site...here in the phil.s some use aviation gas or aircraft fuel...they mix it with the pumps gas to get a higher octane....is this safe on the stock fuel system??

Yes, people do that type of thing all the time.

yup, VP's C16 is leaded 117 octane gas.

this will NOT give you more HP, but it will allow you to run more boost, timing, etc. you will lose HP if you threw it into your car without changing anything.

what i mean is they also use AV GAS on N/A motors..like on
B series HONDUHHSS and bump up the timing...is this safe on the stock fuel system??

uhhh, what octane is AV gas? if its really flammable, then it has a lower octane, which will knock, or it has a higher octane, see above. i have no idea what the fascination with different fuels (other than nitromethane or methanol) is. any kind of gas that would burn in your unleaded car will only help if you adjust something else to take advantage of it. if you really want something that is more volatile, then fill up with diesel, its rated at 40 octane, and burns without spark plugs! (just kidding, please dont do this)

i once had an argument with a guy that said he had 2 tanks on his 70's truck, saying he had C16 in one and reg unleaded in the other. he swore that just flipping the switch would make flames shoot out the back and took a full second off his 1/4 time. no other changes, timing, mixture, nothing, just race gas.

Flammability and octane are not actually relatable. Flammability describes ignition temperature and volatility while octane rating indicates auto-ignition tendency. Diesel is (somewhat) less flammable than gasoline but has much lower octane than gasoline.

AVgas has higher octane than pump gas..it has different colors too.. like purple, blue etc...i wanna know if its safe on the fuel system and engine etc if mixed with pump gas ...but i know that using the higher octane ones alone will destroy the engine...hmmm

i don't see why a higher octane would 'ruin' a engine. example our engines run on 87 normally...many people run 93. Wouldn't this be the same if it was 110 or whatever you happen to be running. Someone chime in if I'm wrong
