There are resistors hooked up to the fan switch. The only time the resistors are not used is on setting 4. Check the SE-R mailing list archives on this at www.se-r-list.org (http://www.se-r-list.org)

Thanks to those who put together this forum - you know who you are. I bought a '92 NX2K about two months ago and it's a great car. I feel privileged to be a part of such a select group - it sounds like they are not very common anywhere. But are NX's known for their interior electrical demons? My heater fan only has one setting right now - full blast (which is okay because it's winter here). Nothing happens on the other three settings. Any advice on causes/fixes? I'm figuring it might have something to do with the cold or with the bumpy ride I took the car for during our first snowfall a couple weeks back... Thanks in advance.

I concur. Awesome response, guys. I was just hoping to be pointed in the right direction - now I've got the exact diagnosis complete with part numbers and instructions! Damn.
