take it somewhere, it is the biggest pita you could ever imagine, but if you try it, use goof off and a razor blade, but tint shops have stuff that will take it right off

I second that. You could try a hair dryer to heat it up and scrape it off with a razor blade and 3M adhesive remover but it comes off in small chunks and you still have a ton of crap on the windows. A total PITA, pay somewhere to do it. (unless you have a lot of time)

no no NO...this is the best way...especialy in texas.... wait for a day where its really really sunny.... coat the piss out of the tint with formula 409 and then place a black plastic trashbag against the tint.... the heat and the chemical will cause the tint to adhere to the plastic bag..... then simply remove.... takes about 30min to 1 hour depending on temperature and how intense the sun is....

you could try that or just take it somewhere, you'll be scraping for hours and not all of the glue EVER comes off....

There is a spray you can apply that aids in the removal of old tint.

I'll see if I can locate that email...I need to do this as well.

BUT, I've heard some commercials on the radio for a local tint shop that say they'll remove your old tint...if I hear it again, I may take them up on it.

i had a friend that removed his tint the way Nox240 did and he had no problem. i mean, i'd rather remove the tint myself and then pay someone to put tint back on it, but that's just me.

 The deal included new tint. Removing the old tint was just an incentive to draw people in that had old, crappy, purple tint.

Hey Nox, do you think the 409/bag trick would work if I applied heat with a heat gun on the outside of the glass?

We removed tint from my friend's Civic HB, but without the warm Texas sun. YES it is a major PITA. For those who have done it themselves, doesn't it smell like stinkin' ass residue when removing it?

Can,

where did you go to get yours removed? And does anyone have a hook up for tinting here in the D/FW somewhere?

the problem is that you need an even source of heat to ensure that the process is even throughout....

you can try it, but ive always done it with the assistance of mother nature
