Just wondering if anyone has had this problem. I had Ferrea dual valve springs & titanium retainers installed when the motor was built to go with my JWT c3 cams. There is about 2,000 miles on the engine. A couple of days ago it sounded like it was misfiring, so we(the shop who built it and myself) tried to figure out what the promlem was and had no luck. We opened the valve cover and there it was... about five of the outer springs were broken. Anyone ever had this problem with their valvespings? thanks... elea

Sorry to hear about your spring failure. I don't have any personal experience with JWT's C-series cams. I do know that JWT has always strongly recommended the use of their springs and retainers with any of their C-series cams. There's plenty of first hand information on the SE-R Mailing List Archieves.

Unfortunately, when I purchased my c3's, JWT was in the middle of trying to redevelop their springs because at that time they were breaking their own. The only choice I had was to go with another company's springs & retainers.

My JWT valvetrain was in tip top shop when I pulled the C2's back out. hmmm...... Wierd, have you contacted Ferra?
