I just found this forum, hopefully someone here can help me.
I have a 1991 NX2000 that the brakes go nearly to the floor before getting firm. I just replaced the master cylinder and the same thing happens. If the engine is not running the pedal gets firm after about 1/2-1 inch of travel. When the engine is running the pedal travels about 5-6 inches without any pressure (and there is no braking power), the pedal gets firm enough to stop the car when it gets about 1 inch from the floor.
There are proportioning valves that screw into two of the master cylinder ports that I did not replace. They were not included with the new master cylinder, could they be the problem?
Any other ideas?
