ok this may be a stupid question but i know this kid who has a 2002 corvette....its just a plain model and its an automatic and its stock....What would a b13 SE-R need to have done to it to beat it? im not talking turbo or anything just bolt ons and/or nitrous?

N/A it would be very tough. Unless you have some sort of fully built motor.

Andreas raced one(c5) with his 200hp all motor car and the car just barely walked him. In total about 2 cars up until 120mph. Keep in mind his car is fully built and has pulled over 101mph through the traps. You need nitrous or forced induction to be competitive. serican could take one out. boltons + 100hp shot.

They are very fast cars. They have 345hp and only weight 3100lbs. That is pretty damn light if you compare them to the cars in its class. If I'm not mistaken they run about 109mph in the quarter and the z06 runs about 112-114mph.

you'll only have a chance from a roll, and then you'll need way over 200whp to stay even. Lets say the vette makes about 325 whp at 3100 lbs. Our cars weigh about 2500 lbs so to get the same power to weight ratio, you'll need about... 260whp.

I've driven C5 auto with heads/cams which put down 370hp. It was like riding on a magic carpet ride!! The thing just flew. Stock C5 with cutout exhaust put down like 310hp. Soo, it'll be tough even with NOS on regular motor. If you have low 12sec turbo SER, you should walk him from a roll.

Yeah, you would need to run nos or be turboed in order to beat one. They are tough. I've raced a few and I have trouble pulling on them. That is the C5's though. The z06's will beat me all day long. Hopefully not for long though ;).

I held up with a C6 vette on the highway and it is the ONLY time i ever did any type of racing or anything off a track. Pull from 60 to about 120 was pretty darn close. He stareted to pull away over that but he didn't want to go any faster I don't think. Funny that we both got off at the same exit and he gave me the thumbs up. I just had the typical bolt ons and 91 intake cam and stuff. Now with my turbo project, I will walk away from him.

I saw a 5 speed vette take on a B14 SE-R with a 50shot on slicks. The se-r took the vette by 2 cars. If you are going to race an automatic I would say with a 50 shot and all of the bolt ons you can hang with it. With a turbo you should get that car by about 2+ cars. This is all depending on how the drivers are also!

few months back....I was going around 35 mph down University Road. A C5 was next to me. I ended up staying at his ass from 35--95 mph with I/H/E and a 50 squeeze.

I thought you had a GA16DE Sentra. I/H/E on a GA won't do you any good against any Corvette unless it is sitting still.

Did you finally get your SR20DE swap?

yes you should be able to keep up with him. Granted I didnt say I won, I just held at his ass-end the whole time till we both shut down.

Learn to drive and take him to a roadcourse. I have walked a few C5 vettes around the track. Nothing feels better. :D
