i have done all the bolt-on engine mods, except cams. prior to that, i would like to know if the hks ignition amp and the stillen fuel prssure adjuster are a wise investment for power. i haven't had any pro's and con's on these items, so if anyone can help.

i ask becuase a while back i read on a website(se-r.net maybe?) that the nissan ignition and fuel pressure are controlled my the cock-blocking MAS and the nissan setup is sufficient. my friend added these items on his GSR and we immediately noticed a diff in power gains.

any help and advise is appreciated:)

No, they will not help at all. The reason why they help out on hondas is because bolt-ons increase the volumetric eff. of their motors, but because they use a MAP sensor, it can't take that into account. So you can adjust the fuel pressure to optimize the power for the changed vol. eff. (which is very ghetto). Since we use a MAF, it's all kinda taken into account. The increased vol. eff. on our motors just allows them to flow more air which the MAF sensor can read so the ecu can compensate. You could probably gain a couple HP by using the FPR and leaning it out a bit buy you risk blowing up your motor. And our ignition systems have no probs until somewhere over 300whp i believe.

thanks. i just remembered i was at the SERCA dyo day a year ago and nology was testing a few stuff with -0- gains. mike k was there and he stated the nissan setup is good enough. i didn't get into any detail, but after the install in my friends gsr, i just got to thinking if i should do it.

i guess a simple plug, wire, cap/rotor tune is all im going to do for now.
