hi all
i recently installed s4 cams in my nx plus an ECU made by powerchips. the above compo was tested in my previous sr20de car for about 20.000 miles with no problem at all. the iddle with the reprogrammed ECU and s4s was as smooth as with the stock ecu and stock cams.
But when i put the ecu and the s4 in my nx problems occured.
more specifically the iddle is a bit choppy but the main problem is that at about 6500 where the new cams should "work" , somehting seems to keep the car from accelerating.
i have to mention i did almost 120 miles before i floored it, (i now have 200 miles ) although i know used cams dont need brake period.(only the ecu)
also the ecu was sitting in my place for 6 months.
questions
1) do you think my mechanic missed a tooth of the cams during installation? (he has do it for many times, and i checked the intake clock cam (10) and the excaust clock cam(12). The only thing i saw and made my curius was that after puting the cams in, he had remmoved the entire chain(first time had blocked it with a wood) with zips holding it, but he couldnt put the gears back easily and moved a bit the intake cam.) also he says there is no way to missed a tooth.
how i can check that he hasnt miss a tooth during camshafts installation (please submit a url with the procedure if possible)
2) do u think the ecu advances the timming too much there?
i put the timing in 15 degrees and 11 but nothing improved.
remember the ecu was in my previus SR20 and worked great.
i need help here guys.
thanks in advance for your answers.
