Back a little ways there was a big deal with badbiki providing daughter boards that can be plugged into the stock ECU and they used a programmable EEPROM chip. There is software and stuff out there with base nissan maps that you can adjust. Search for badbiki under member names and it will come up.

This is what JWT uses. Because I already had a JWT ECU when I went turbo they just sent me the EPROM chip. It took 3 days to get and I installed it myself. When you open the ECU there is a daughter board with a EPROM chip. A quick switch and she's ready to got back in the car with the turbo program. 5 minutes tops once you have the ECU out of the car.

Does JWT program daughetrboards to runs diiferent boost settings, methanol injection, etc. I dont want a bunch of gaudy boost controllers, and stuff...just the necessites...gauges hidden near the cd player

I will be providing these Badbiki rom boards soon with basic turbo programs and custom turbo programs offering up to four differant map choices on one ecu.

Nice!!!! Whats the estimated cost? Will your Eprom plug into teh JWT board for thosse of us who already own it? I'll be ordering a chip soon from JWT but this is a great setup you'll be offering.

Has anyone actually gotten a BadBiki board to work... I ordered one and it would not work in my US ECU, he said he wasn't sure if it would or not.

I did have valid code to run on it also.

I will have to see if the chips just work(they should in theory). We were planning on selling the ecu with the board and starting with B13s and silvia swapped 240SXs

Like I said, in theory you would think maybe so, but the board itself doesn't interface to the ECU anything like the JWT board at all (as far as the address/data lines from the EPROM). I tried without success two BadBiki boards on two different ECU's....

Let me know what you find though.

Chris,

badbiki boards were based and tested on OBD-I ECUs, like the ones you had on B13s.

I have not seen any of those on a 95+ ECU.

Chris (the other one). I understand they were built for those ecu's, I installed one in a '91 and a '92 ecu I had. Didn't work, however, the same code in a homebrew board I did did work. There may be/is a difference between ecu's, I still believe its in the size of the code stored on the ecu. The 94+ ecu's don't have a 2x20 interface like the odb1s, its a straight 1x40 pin. Like I said, if you compare the address/data lines on the eproms and trace them to what pins they connect to on the ecu header, they are not even close to the same when compared to a JWT ecu.

Ok other-other! :-))

This is definitely new information!

I am aware of the 1x40pin 94 connector from discussing it with art_from_ct. I tended to believe though that the pinouts would be easily deciphered,

In your opinion, should we assume that the actual pins on the header of US 91-93 ECUs are different from AU/japanese/euro speced ECUs?

This is the only reasonable conclusion since I have talked with guys from AU and NZ that have the badbiki daughterboards working without problems.

MauiBlueGride,
are you saying you got the s13 map and adress file to work with a b13 ECU by using a homebrew board, but it it wouldnt work with a badbiki board? or did you have stock US maps?

This might help u guys out if u didn't know about them. The board is kinda slow but there a few people who know how to do it there. http://www.wanganmidnight.com/wanganbb/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=11
