: bought new suspension pieces
ITR_KILLR 01-30-2003, 07:14 PM bought AGX's, motivational rear mounts, koni bumpstops, ES control arm bushings, (already have every other ES piece), and fr and Rr STB's. this should be on in a week, to see if it will tighten up the old 200. I might buy Motivational front struts, if the ride isnt relatively good w/ the AGX.
Driven97 01-30-2003, 07:23 PM Let us know. I'm considering the same stuff to tighten up my 120,000mile ride.
I'm running the GC 350/300 w/ AGXs and the ride isn't bad, even here in Mich. It can be, if you turn the struts way up, which I do for the track. I run the rear ST bar, I switched back to the stock front bar. I'm considering all three braces and the camber plates this year.
Plus, to get a bit of snap for AutoX, I think I'm going to try some really stiff rear springs. Maybe 500 or 600lbs. Might be fun.
ITR_KILLR 01-30-2003, 07:29 PM i didnt mention that i have crappy sportlines, the guy that owns ME, told me that they arent that bad. What other pieces should i consider to tighten up the handling? Progess sway bar?
WickedSR20 01-30-2003, 07:32 PM Should be a noticeable improvement.
Driven97 01-30-2003, 07:34 PM Honestly, I thought the sway bars made the biggest difference, bigger than my high-rate GCs. I thought Progress only made a B13 bar?
spdracerUT 01-30-2003, 11:44 PM with the b14, I'd only get the rear sway bar. Our cars understeer enough as is. I'm running 300f/250r and the rear will slide out under trail braking, but otherwise, it just understeers. Thats with the stock bars.
Khiem
The Stillen rear bar is nice. Very nice lift throttle oversteer with the 350/300 setup with the stock front bar and stillen rear bar.
FWIW I had the AGX/Sportline setup before this. The best thing you can do for that setup is get the ME rear mounts and the Koni stops!
ITR_KILLR,
You should notice a tremendous improvement! I've done all the suspension work you've talked about except for the ES bushings and rear sway bar....it is a night and day difference.
I am running 350/300 and the ride isn't rough at all :) Imo, the front stb helps a lot too. Down the road I'm going to do ES bushings and a sway bar too.
Can anybody with GC sleeves tell me how low they went in the front and rear? If you can give me a measurement like my wheel wheel is x inches from the ground or center of my wheel or both, that would help me. I'm still trying to adjust my heights.
cheers,
jacen99SE 01-31-2003, 04:00 PM The stillen adjustable rear sway bar is nice.
I'd dump the sportlines and get GC's. That way you can get stiffer springs, keep the car low, and not bottom out when the wind blows or if you had a big breakfast ;)
ITR_KILLR 01-31-2003, 10:53 PM what about the tein springs??, i might go GC one day, but right now the motor is top priority, then its getting some urethane and fresh paint.
Se-Racer 02-02-2003, 10:55 AM Hey ITR-KILLR i'll take you for a ride in car and let you see if you like my set-up, just to get an idea.
ITR_KILLR 02-02-2003, 12:54 PM what kind of coilovers do you have SE-Racer??
Se-Racer 02-02-2003, 08:07 PM I'm running generic coil-over sleeves with ERS coils 400f/350r
ITR_KILLR 02-02-2003, 10:00 PM ya i would like to ride in it sometime
Se-Racer 02-03-2003, 12:22 AM If you want to meet up sometime just let me know,i still want to take a ride in your car before it goes into the shop.
ITR_KILLR 02-03-2003, 12:29 AM i should be in town this weekend.
ITR_KILLR 02-03-2003, 12:34 AM i put some 116octane gas in the SER last night and turned the boost up to 12psi,(i like to be safe) and ran a CBR F4i (a friend of mine) down I26, i was impressed, he had a hard time takin off on me. my other friend was on a TL1000, fully built w/ n20!!, that was a different story:D , he may have busted my ass, but at least my ass was warm, hehe:D
(on the way to see "biker boyz", it was ok, i enjoyed the ride to the theatre, more than the movie.)
Se-Racer 02-03-2003, 11:50 PM Sounds good just let me know when you want to meet up,are you going to school at USC or USCS?
ITR_KILLR 02-04-2003, 12:04 AM I'm @ USC for another semester, comin home friday, did you install your own suspension?
Se-Racer 02-06-2003, 12:13 AM Cool deal, i'll be town till about midnight fri, yeah i installed everything myself, the only PITA thing is grinding the front struts to get the sleeve to go over, but you have springs so it should be no big deal.
