So the 2000 sr20de waterpump pulley is roughly the same size as the UR underdrive pulley? If so can you use the 2000 sr20de waterpump and pulley as a less expensive alternative to the underdrive system.

Crank pulley, not water pump pulley. You may also need a shorter accessory drive belt.

what is nice about unorthodox is the fact that they weigh less than stock. Less mass to spin as well as the underdrive on the crank. I would look into things a little bit more.

It is lower mass. Andreas was the one who found this out; the "old" engine's crank pulley is the heaviest, the "new" (rollerized) engine's crank pulley is next in weight, though I have no idea how heavy, but the UR piece is still smallest and lightest. The accessory ("driven") pulleys are probably no different, except for the power steering pump pulley. Not sure what makes it different, but it is.
By the logic that UR's pulley kit fits a roller engine, a roller engine crank pulley should be 100% bolt-on for any soul brave enough to try it on an older engine. As an added bonus, the roller's crank pulley still has the harmonic dampener, even though SR20s don't need it for longevity. Checking Car-Parts.com (http://www.car-parts.com/) at the time of this writing, it appears that there is a '00 pulley in Roseville, CA for $75 and a '01 pulley in St. Cloud, MN for $50. Couldn't really hurt to try...
