Which heat range do you guys run?

I'm running NGK BKR6E @ .9mm (.035in) gap with no problems or fouling.

I was running BKR6E with a .020 gap, no fouling, the only problem was with the plug wires I had. No worries when I switched to NGK wires.

I'm running Iridium NGK/7's. They come gapped @ 32. Hey pssssh, which wires did you have first? GTIRoids

Also doesn't the ignition system and boost amount play into the gap size?

I wanna add a few comments/facts here:

Stock spark plug gaps for all SR20DET's including the GTi-R and Silvia's is .8mm - .9mm (.031in - .035in): Many of times I have come accross sites that recommend the stock plug gap of .9mm up until 12psi of boost, thereafter the SR20DET seems to favor a .7mm - 8.mm gap.

Just something I wanted you guys to know that didn't know that.

Avenir's and GTi-R's boost ~10psi from the factory to.

The bottom line is you want to run the biggest gap possible without missfire so you can introduce the biggest spark possible to the combustion chamber to ignite the air fuel ratio more completely so to speak.

i ran BKR7E's gapped at .030" on a 9.5:1 motor. no problems at all.

I would think that you could run BKR6E's on a bbdet because of the lower compression.

FWIW.

Previously I had Nology's which suck, then I got my hands on some stock wires which took a crap on me. Now present time I have the NGK wires, which I like a lot.

This is what I think.

Turbo'd 9:5.1 should go with BKR7E's for 3 reasons.........Higher compression ratio, absense of piston oil squirters, non-sodium filled exhaust valve and smaller exhaust valves.

SR20DET come from the factory with a heat range of 6 boosting ~7 -10psi............thats good enough for me.

I run BKR7E-11 in both my NA Altima and my brothers BB DET G20 , Gaps are Altima .048in and G20 .038in ...... No problems ever !!

the platinums dont do anything more than last longer. they only last 2x as long, but cost 3x as much, and its not like a spark plug swap is hard on our cars.

Spark plug easy are you kinding its harder then turboing a sr20:rolleyes: Jk

I think that the platinums are just a waste of money.
