Hey guys, someone posted that using a bb or gti-r ecu on stock internals with a turbo could make you engine blow since the turbo comps are made to run with lower compression!!?? I've never heard of that happening as of yet. Anyone know what's up with that? I've got a BB ecu that I'll be using an safc with/370cc/intercooler etc. Should I forget it and use my stock computer until I get lower compression pistons?

It was probably me who posted that. Reason being... with the higher compression, you have to run a bit richer to be safe and prevent detonation. The stock BB ecu isn't tuned for that. BUT, since it looks like you're using an AFC, you can turn up the fuel a bit to compensate.

...or remap the timing using something else...

uhh, i dont think it will be a problem. boost makes things more likely to detonate, so they probably detuned it a little when compared to your 9.5:1 ECU. if you are really worried, just retard the timing to like 12-13 BTDC.

Well, boost and higher compression :) I guess you could pop it up on a dyno with a wideband O2 to check the A/F. And you can make whatever adjustments necessary from there.

Well the way I understand it is that the Turbo ECU won't have and agressive timming curve like the N/A Ecu. Won't know till PssshhgosemySR20 gets back and we take a look at the Techom and see what it dose for the timming.
