I notice this one and off but today when I started my car and let it chill in my driveway to warm up a little bit... it was already sittin good at 1000rpm's. I was about to get in and it caught my attention. I bent down on the drivers side by the fender and I swear the sound was coming from the transmission. It is sort of a ticking sound. My car only has 72k on it. Any ideas.
Thanks.

5 speed or automatic? Pop the hood and see if you can better pin point it. Sure you not hearing the injectors tick?

If its actually in the tranny thats a bad thing. Usually it won't be the tranny itself, but something in the clutch assembly. Does it seem to shift and drive normally? Does the pedal feel the same. 'course if its an automatic none of that applies. :p

It is a 5-speed. It wasnt making the sound today after I had been driving it around for a while so I don't know whats up. But its been shifting kind of rough.

try getting a lstening rod and check from there, theres plenty of things that can make a ticking noise in the engine bay
