: Where to find cheap DET TPS!!??
gpriceynissan 02-10-2003, 12:58 AM I've searched around for a cheap det throttle position sensor and the cheapest I've found is $75 plus shipping, and they want to sell the whole throttle body with it! Anyone have a det tps laying around to sell? I don't need the whole throttle body.
charlie2020 02-10-2003, 01:10 AM I have a double (2) connect Avenir DET TPS, very good condition.

Charlie what do you mean, I bought an avenir motor and it came without a tps sensor and I tried putting a stock de one in and it wasn't seeming to fit, I mean i just tried for a minute or so but couldn't get it to work, it seems like it will with a little more finessing but maybe it can't fit??
Mndgy 02-10-2003, 12:16 PM The avenir TPS that is 2 plug came from an automatic, which obviously uses a different plug. You just swap out the throttle body to use the de tps and my O2 sensor said bosch on it so I'm assuming you can use it in the stock de ecu....:D.....and don't forget aboot that little restictor pill.
sleeping 91ser 02-10-2003, 01:14 PM I really need to swap over throttle bodies to make the tps work??
charlie2020 02-10-2003, 01:43 PM The plugs appear to be the exact same size as the DE TPS maybe its a matter of pluging it into the right connector.
All U13 and above includeing W10 and W11 Avenirs use the same o2 sensor as the USDM DE. By they way they are all Bosch so that doesn't have any bearing nere Mndgy, its a matter of the size and type.
charlie2020 02-10-2003, 01:45 PM Off Topic: Does anyone know if a 1994 low port B13 comes with a internal coil or external coil.
Thanks in advance

Charlie, my question is not weather the plugs are the same but weather a de tps will bolt right up to the where the avenir tps was, it should right, I never heard it wouldn't until now??
Driven97 02-10-2003, 02:51 PM We bolted the DE TPS to the Avenir motor. No problems. Perhaps we got lucky? BTW, how do you adjust that thing? We've got a mild part throttle surge an think a TPS adjustment might cure it.
gpriceynissan 02-10-2003, 06:08 PM I keep hearing that when you put the BB setup on a stock sr20, you have to use the BB tps. Sounds like people are swapping in stock sr20 tps's onto their BB engines. What tps do I really need for a BB setup(including ecu from BB).????
SeattleSE R 02-10-2003, 06:33 PM Use the stock DE TPS, using the BB TPS(manual) won't work for the reason that when you open it to WOT the value won't match up with factory specs. Don't remember, but it's only something like half of the voltage you need to see at WOT.
gpriceynissan 02-10-2003, 10:29 PM But if I'm using a BB ECU, then wouldn't it want to see values from a BB throttle position sensor? Like I said, I keep seeing everyone say that when you use a BB ecu, all you have to change is the TPS. Guess I'll try it with my stock de tps and if it doesn't work I'll just have to wait another week for one to get shipped to me.
charlie2020 02-11-2003, 11:22 AM Look if you have a true Automatic Trans W10 or W11 Avenir the stock TB housing where the TPS sensor goes will not allow a US Spec Manual Trans TPS to fit because of a difference in the cast housing for the TPS.
Am I gonna have to break out with the digi-cam............this has been the case with 3 Avenir engine I have seen. Wheather it have the singal plug pig tail type TPS, the double connector type TPS sensor or the singal connector type just like the US DE TPS.
The Bluebird engine I have seen didn't make a difference the DE TPS was able to fit right on.
gpriceynissan 02-11-2003, 06:33 PM I'm not talking about putting my stock tps into a bluebird throttle body or bluebird engine at all. I have a n/a sr20de, and am turbo'ing it with all bolt ons, and I want to use a BB ecu. My question is that I've heard you have to use the BB's TPS, from a bluebird setup(which I did not buy-the whole reason why I may need one). Is no-one getting my question or am I interpreting all these backwards answers wrong?????
sleeping 91ser 02-11-2003, 07:23 PM ok, well im not sure what I have cause it didn't have any tps on it when I got it it was just a long block, it didn't have much on it. All I know is the tps didn't fit in
xDennis 02-26-2003, 12:20 PM Sleeping,
What did you conclude to? I will be getting a avenir engine in the near future and hopefully I will not have the issue of a missing TPS. (I will have a fullt motor though) But if it is missing the TPS i will be in your shoes. So what did you end up and firgure out to solve the TPS issue??
