: T28: turbine A/R: .86 or .64
djisnx2000 02-10-2003, 05:44 PM Hi, somebody has to turbo for sale. Two T28s, both have .60 A/R on the compressor, but one has .86 A/R on the turbine (he thinkg this one is modified), and the other has .64 A/R on the turbine.
What will each give me, max whp, lag, etc
Thanks for your answers!
myprojectB13 02-10-2003, 06:02 PM If you're looking for the Pulsar T-28, that would be the .86 on the turbine side, .60 on the compressor side.

djisnx2000 02-10-2003, 06:10 PM Then I guess that if I'm looking for more whp, the .86 A/R would be the one to chose, since there's more flow?
Rockwood 02-10-2003, 07:30 PM the 0.86 is the GTiR one, the 0.64 is the Sylvia one.
the 0.86 will support a lot more power, but the sylvia one will spool faster. the smaller turbine maxes out pretty fast though, and i doubt you will hit much more than 280 whp, if youre lucky.
97SE-R C2 02-10-2003, 07:33 PM Is a pulsar T28 even capable of much more than 280whp?
djisnx2000 02-10-2003, 07:56 PM Yeah I have the same question, I have S4s, how much whp could I have with them and a T28?
Rockwood 02-10-2003, 07:57 PM no, but the S15 turbo, which is a 0.86 A/R exh and a T04B compressor can. the limitation on the GTiR turbo is the compressor, the limitation on the S14 sylvia is the exh housing. i would rather have less backpressure.
most of these turbos, unless found real cheap, i have found to be a waste of time. unless you are set on just running 13s, maybe 12s if youre lucky (like i got) i would save my money on a bigger setup from the getgo. you can pick up a nice 0.63 A/R T3/T04E and have little lag and not too bad of a price tag either, and people have taken these setups to the 11s, which is more than most people would want anyway (except me, for some reason)
trust me, the little T25 setups are good, but their novelty will wear thin. you WILL get used to the power, and you WILL crave more, sooner or later. if i could do it again, i would buy the setup i am curently getting in the first place and save the money spent on the T25 setup that can be resold at a fraction of the price (my old setup is going on my brother's classic, arent i a nice, sweet guy?)
djisnx2000 02-10-2003, 08:08 PM I want to hit 320whp, what trim sizes and A/R should I look for with S4s on a T3/TO4E and are S4s appropriate for a T3/TO4E?
Rockwood 02-10-2003, 10:28 PM 0.63 A/R with a 50 trim compressor would be more than enough. full boost shouldnt be much past 3500 rpm. S3s or S4s would work, S4s, you may need some cam gears to maximize your powerband, but you could do it without. i prefer S3s, as they have the same lift, just less duration, and therefore, more turbo friendly.
you could get Louis Anaya's package here, plus an intercooler, BOV, some injectors, and you will be set.

and the rest of the stuff can be found at competetive prices at his site as well (www.sr20performance.com) louis is a great guy!

hehe....this is true.
se-riusb14 02-11-2003, 05:38 AM Soon I too will feel the turbo powah.

I most power I have ever seen a T28 produce is 321 whp @ 18 psi with 550cc injectors.
got a few t28 questions
Was that a pulsar t28 that hit 321whp ?
Will pulsar t28 fit bluebird manifold without clearence probs ?
How is street performance with the pulsar 0.86 turbine housing ? laggy?
Does bulebird t25 have a 0.64 turbine housing ?
What is a proven upgrade for a worn t25 ? the pulsar ? I see dsm guys have a few t28 options, done on their t25 cores. These heavy cars run mid 12s on 'em, so it should take a b13 lightweight even faster
I'm not after crazy power in a fwd, hi 12s will do
