Just wondering, how many people did that, and what effects that had on your cars?

on my GA i plugged the EGR valve, but left all the connectors plugged in. havent had any MIL's yet. BTW, this is with a JWT ecu.

what year is your car? if its a high port sr20dev sells jdm intakes for like 40$ that does away with all emisson stuff. or you can just make plates to cover the holes in the stock manifold like i did on my beater car. i used 1/8" stainless sheet metal, and ive had no problems with it. as far as the plugs for the aiv and egr in the exhaust, you can buy the plugs from hot shot or the cheap way is to take the stock plug and have it welded off, the ghetto way is to take the stock plug and leave like 4" of steel pipe hanging off of it. then pinch the line and fold it on top of its self a couple of times with a vice. it doesnt leak if done right.... like i said GHETTO but it works.

My brother and I both have no EGR and run the JDM manifold. OUr friend also has no egr but just plugged the vacuum line. I notice better idle and plainly just better running. We are in Michigan so there are no worries about emissions and stuff. But I would say it hardly produces more, we all still run Cat convertors also.

what is the procedure for this, like what exactly do you have to cap off, and what about the piping coming off the headers, isnt that part of the egr too?

i think i had a friend that put a spark plug in his AIV hole. worked just fine.

The pipe out of the header is AIV and you can remove that and still have functioning EGR I do believe. THe removal of the EGR stuff can be found at www.se-r.net in the FAQ and troubleshooting parts. Chech that out.

i thought the aiv was part of the egr. it recirculates the exhaust back into the intake, i guess its supposed to be better for the enviorment???

you would need jwt reprogram to take out egr.....because if you dont check light comes on, right?.....or is there other ways you can trick that out?

I swapped my intake manifold for a JDM manifold then removed all the rest of the equipment. It works fine, removed the clutter. Just have to worry about smog (California)....

Blairellis I would really appreciate it if you could follow-up on the walkthrough. I need to know the procedure for it. Thanks.

Hey ive posted this like 5 times this month, but here goes. If you have a 95+ with obdII you simply need to put a 100k ohm resister in the egr temperature sensor. and the procedure is simple. remove the pipe that goes from the manifold to the egr (easy to spot). remove the 2 bolts that hold the egr in. remove the egr/bpt assembly. plug the vacuum line with either a golf tee or a bold. cap the intake with a plate. plug the manifold (i cut the egr pipe to about 3 inches, flattened out the end and bent it back onto itself for a temporary plug). then find the plug that goes to the egr temp sensor (should be on the back of the intake plenum) and disconnect it. get a 100k ohm resister from radioshack. plug that into the harness where you disconnected the sensor from. questions?
