I was wondering if any one has 17" wheels and has lower their B13? If so does the wheel hit the top of the fender. If yes what did you do to correct the problem. Or is it better to get 16" wheels.

Depending on the offset of the wheels you will need to roll the fender lip in the back if your car is lowered. I even had to roll the lip with 16s I had a few years back.

charlie2020 has 17" Momo GT2's on his B13 SE-R. Shoot a PM his way and ask him.

even if 17s fit, it would be better to get 16s, because unless you are making a ton of hp, 17s are going to kill acceleration. 16s wont hurt it too much.

uh oh, because i tell the truth, i am a post 'hore'

Well if you wanna ride like shit get 16's..If you wanna nicer ride get 17's. And i would like to add the point that everyone on this board ALWAYS thinks that peeps are caring about hp and how fast their car is.... that's NOT true. If he didnt ask about hp and performance then dont say anything about it...All your doing is being a post hore!!!!!

I had 17's on my Classic for th e longest time.. I never had any issues. Like mentioned above it all depends on the offset

I too have 17's w/ +38 offset, and I DID have rubbing...but thanks to me and my friend, my fender lip, well, it is destroyed!! Personally, I like the way my 17's look. SOOOOO big! And performance wise, it really didn't hurt as bad as you would think. Even on my poor GA. That's another reason I don't care about perf...my GA doesn't give me enough to care!

Truth be told, you can study the offset, measure untill you turn blue in the face. But you never know untill you put them on the car. If you have a specific wheel in mind mention it, someone might have them on their b13. Even then who knows if it will be the same on yours (dent in fender, wheel well weirdness, tyres, suspention). You have more variables in this question then constants, and if you ask me put 16's on:)

I just spent the night trying to get my 40 series yokomas on my 17*7 Axis maglites. The technician that was doing it for me scratched 1/4 of one of the rims. I'm like "I have curb rash before the rims get on my car", Damn.

So I get the tires on the rims and realize that I don't have hubcentric rings(thats the name of the ring that goes between your rim and your hub, right?), Damnit again. Where can I get those rings?. The tech also said I should get sleeved lugs for the rims. I got crome lugs with the wheels, shouldn't I be able to use those?

Also, anyone with 17*7's and 205/40R17, Do your tires rub the strut body? If it does, is it OK or do you have to get spacers? If you get spacers(I was thinking 5mm spacers) do you have to get longer wheel studs?

If you have the answers to any of these questions please reply

My 16's ride like a charm and I have my GC's almost all the way down. Thats with16X7 and 205/40 series tires witha 40MM offset. Tom I've taken you for a ride numerous times fool...that shit is like cloud 9 :)

It is great, with GC coilovers, cause you can trim back the lower spring perch on the strut and have a little more negative offset, like 40mm and be fine for clearance.

I have 17X7 Nippon racing Taikos w/215/40R17 w/42 offset (I think have to check). When I put them on the wheels, they would not turn at all on the rear. So I "massaged" the lower spring perch, they don't rub the perch, but do rub the lower fender. I would recommend 7 inch wide unless you have G/C or similar without stock spring perch.

when i had 16's on my car i had the tokico blues and H&R springs the car was bouncy. I since then had the GC and AGX and 17's and the ride is much better. I've been in Petes(nycep26) car and that does ride like cloud 9 maybe it was the suspension, but my bro has that setup now and he is fine with his 15" rota's
