i am thinkign about getting some racing seats, but i was wondering how hard it was to mount them, i was told *** ti could just bolt the new sliders directly to the floor, but i was wondering if there were any funky grooves or anyting that made this hard. anyone?

as long as you get the rails and brakcets that pertain to the seats and the car you should be good to go!!

definitely ge tthe wedge brackets do not modify the existing ones or bolt anything down to the car that really isnt made to exactly do so...I wouldnt half ass anything when it comes to seat and safety equipment.....imagine if that rail buckles or unbolts at high speeds or tight turning.. u go with it..LOL

I just installed a set of Tenzo-R seats on my NX2K 2 weeks ago. It took me the whole day, a trip to Home Depot for some brackets, nuts and bolts. I use the univeral rails and with the metal brackets(custom cut and drill) I was able to use all the original nut holes.

You can bolt the sliders to the floor. You'll just have to grind out the stock seat mounting points so you'll have a flat floor to work with. However, I advise against doing so. The floorboard is not very strong, therefore safety will be an issue.

Besides, you'll be sitting *very* low with the seats mounted that far down. Heck, on my NX, I'm already sitting at least 3-4" lower with my Sparco seat, and a custom "ghetto-rigged" bracket bolted to the stock mounting points.

^Uh... The NX is a B13 model.

FYI, the seat mounting points are similar between the B13, B14, and P10 cars... Therefore, the seats are all interchangeable. I had a '91 SE-R seat in my NX before I got the Sparco seat.

hi, i was just wondering what was involved in customizing your seat brackets becaseu i think i am going to do the same, thanks

Well... I didn't do the fabrication myself. Me and a friend went to OSH to buy some weld-able metal, and used various drills, saws, and a TIG welder to weld the bracket together. We then drilled holes in the right spots to bolt the slider to the bracket. It was definitely a ghetto job. The seat was just barely in the right position for me with the slider pushed all the way forward, and I'm 5'9". Anyone shorter than me would have a hard time driving the car because their legs would barely reach the pedals.

This is what i done !

Take å mettal bar. and drill two holes in place of the orginal screw holes. screw the bar fast.
this is the front. werry easy.

Then the rear two holes. they have different higths. take a mettal bar. and drill a hole and screew it fast to the screwhole nearest the door. then bend it to the underneath of the screw hole nearest the other seat. and screw it fast in a drilled hole.

then take the brackets that came whit the chair and weld it fast to the two mettal bars. and screw the seet fast to them !!!

(I'm norwegian so dont critisise the englis :P)

I did not like my Wedge Bracket at all, it sat way too high, I believe I sold it to NX$panaird. I ended up custom making a bracket that sits way low and isnt adjustable, MUCH BETTER!
