: UGRENT!!: Found a $800 Avenir Motor...
xDennis 02-20-2003, 12:21 PM Hey guys, I've been talking to this guy on and off for a few months and he is willing to sell me a Avenir Motor FOR 800 BUCKS@! I do not think he knows the difference between the normal "U" series engines and the "W" He just told me, "I don't deal with u12's because most of the time we get them in bad shape" Im not really sure what to think...except I WANT THIS ENGINE!

Also, there is some rust in a few of the places (pulleys and what not) , but IT IS an avenir judging by the valve cover. Tell me what you think!!!

93BlackBird 02-20-2003, 04:49 PM The rust stuff is not a problem. Mine had(before I cleaned it) "rust dust" in the coolant area, but that was from standing water in those areas. When I opened my motor up it was ultra clean. The girdle isn't even bronze yet and the bearings are brand new. If you are really lucky like me you will get a very new one and it will be a ball bearing T25. Even if you found on of these motors at the same cost a a Bluebird or at JGY's price I would pick it up since its such lower miles you save money just on the maint. things you do to the older worn motors.
