Whats up guys well I finally broke the little springs on my second OEM clutch disc again so I decided to fix my reverse problem now that the tranny is out...

My question is I can't seem to get the (old tranny for experimental purposes) case open, I took off all the bolts on my old tranny used a blade to get the sealent off, well after trying for hours I got frustrated and took it to my friend to try, as I took it to him the tranny slipped and had a nice 1-2 foot drop, anyway, well it opened up then, I don't think trannies like being dropped so I don't want to do that to my good tranny...sorry for just writing jiberish, but the actual question is,

Is there a trick to removing the case?(i.e. pull up then twist, or whatever)

Thanks in advance

There is a few spots on the case that have "tabs" that you can use a prybar between the 2 and pry the case open.

well you didnt mention anything about removeing the little cap with i think 6 10mm bolts on it. After that is removed you need to take the clip out that holds the shaft with the gears on it in place. Then you case will come apart easier!!!!

sorry I forgot to mention that but I did take off the clip and the little cap at the end...for the tabs part are you talking about the pins that kind of keep the tranny in place? theres two right, it could just be that my old tranny was really stuck, maybe since my new one has recently been cryoed it should be a little easier to remove, any other insights before I work on it on Sunday?
