Ok gang here is the deal. I met a guy today that works for a local Nissan Parts Department. He is in charge of maintaining there parts. I talked to him and I asked him if he thought Nissan would make OEM plug wires in different colors. I for one would love some RED OEM wires. He told me to see who would be interested in this. He told me that if they decided to make them that they would be about the same price as the normal black wires they sell now. Let me see what kind of turn out I can get from here. I told him I would let him know in a week or so.

If you would be intersted in a set reply here so I can get a head count. This is not set in stone but it would be cool to see if we can get this done.

Normal price being: $50 or the Nissan "jack-me-up-price" of $70+ ?

I would like some RED ones too.
Maybe a little darker red than yours. :)

This guy maintains their parts in stock but how can he come up with OEM wires if Nissan doesn't make them?

Exactly if they decide to make them of course he can get them for you, infact if they made them ANY nissan dealership could get them for you. Only problem is they don't make them so he can't get them for you, and I doubt he has enough input to make a difference.

Oem Nissan wires for the sr20 are NGK--they make blue and black wires only. You misunderstood the guy if you thought he said he could get Nissan to change "their" oem color. It has nothing to do with nissan--it is a supplied part. Even if Nissan controlled the color of their spark plug wire offerings---I hope you really don't think a multi-BILLION dollar company is going to run a group buy on replacement spark plug wires if you get "enough " people to say they would buy them

Well this guy has been working for Nissan for quite some time. I am pretty sure he knows alot of people (parts side of the house) I would imagine that Nissan does not make the wires themselves.( sorry for stating that in my 1st post) Obviously they have a company that makes them. (NGK whoever) He said he can make some calls and try to talk to to someone. Maybe they can be a special order? Who knows??? Keep in mind this is not a tennager stocking parts. This guy is the Assistant Parts Manager. He said he would see what he can do . Also keep in mind that this is not set in stone. He is just going to make some calls for me.....

I am not here trying to start a debate. I just want to see how many people would be interested IF! this could be set up.

TIA!

I know a parts manager that has worked for a local dealership fpr 8 years and whenever I used to ask him questions like that he laughed at me. (like yeah right) If there is some way this guy can get them and they are OEM count me in.

LOL, IIRC, the wires say Yazaki on them, not NGK.

They are supplied to nissan thru another Company.

Were I work i design parts that go on alternators for gm vehicles.

there is no way in bloody hell that i am going to dictate what color the part is and i am designing it!!! yet alone an assitant Parts manager! just my $.02
