Anyone know of "OBX RACING SPORTS"? I just saw their headers on Ebay (with outrageous HP claims but hey.. everyone does it) and noticed that they were pretty cheap. Theirs go for around $150 compared to Hotshots which are at around $500 if I'm not mistaken..

If anyone has any insight or experience with the OBXs I would be interested to know a bit more about them.

all i've read about the obx header is from the acura-tl forum. a couple of guys there run the header as a cheaper alternative to the comptech one. you might want to check there to see their feedback.

Name recognition and quality are not equivalent. Look at Pacesetter...

cantdoadonut -- Where did you get your headers for that price? Usually those run for around $300 right?

jomama -- I searched around on the Acura-tl forum... but their layout sucks compared to ours.. heheh. Where did you find that thread?

Slartibartfast -- I am guessing that you know lots of "best bang for your buck" parts then eh..? Any reccomends? I am going to make a cold air intake as per what the se-r.net instructs. Anything cheap is what I'm looking for!

I am very much a "you get what you pay for" guy. I do what's right, not what's cheap.

I believe that too... to a point. But I think that it is possible to find cheaper items that perform on par with a more expensive counterpart. Case in point --> compare ferrari to a porsche. Price is a huge diff. and quality is too... with the ferraris costing more and porsches being higher quality. Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezers also have a rep of being overpriced and lacking quality.
Sorry for the misinterpretation of what you were saying though.

BTW... I found some of the headers on Ebay... But someone already bought em. Ah well, I guess I can look for another auction... but on a sidenote, I found them on websites going for around $300-$400...

erdick,
there's something up with that forum. but when it's functioning properly again, go to www.acura-tl.com and click on forum. i went into the TL discussion forum and did a search for *obx* header. make sure you use the *'s or else the search query will be too short. it is a pretty poor layout.

look for used hotshot headers. I think thats the best way. You can usually find some pretty cheap. When I sold mine I ended up selling for $200 just to get rid of them already. They would not sell. The guy that bought them was so happy with them. thats just my opinion though.

Amen, Reverend.

Preach, brother, preach...

I would rather do it right once than 3 times wrong just to save money.

That's why a HotShot Gen 5 resides in the front of my engine bay.

the acura guys were saying that the OBX header gives 1-5hp in Low RPMs, and High RPM's gives 25-30hp .... i would say this is a worthy mod. especially for us Nissan Guys... think about it.. for $180 you get a Nice looking header, with proven Acura (the mother of the hp'less honda's) gains upto 30 hp. Given a Nissan Flow profile in the High RPMS, i would say we should see 25-30hp as well. they get that much cause VTEC, well we should get that much cause of good engineering by Nissan.

what?!?! They might mean that they get 25-30 hp with all the simple bolt ons, but there is no way that a single mod such as a header will produce that power. Unless of course its just honda guys being honda guys...

I dont know about their headers but their turbo manilfolds dont seem to be too popular with the honda guys. Check it our for yourself.

Im going to get some OBX Ceramic Headers , for 1 they are CHEAP and constructed WELL. for 2, they are different from what EVERYONE with a sentra gets (hot shot).

I beg to differ. The Pacesetter I had performed flawlessly and was constructed well. It took the abuse I dished out and never complained. Might have actually made more power, but this was before I had access to a local dyno.

Greg, who has actually owned a Pacesetter header.

I had an OBX short shifter and they don't shift nearly as smooth as a B&M/Pacesetter one.
