After a blown head gasket and putting the engine back together, i have an idle surge. It surges between 1500-2000. What could be the problem? I know it may be tps, but anything else it could be? It seems like an extremely high idle for just the tps, but could that be the problem? HELP!

could it be the aac valve not getting any coolant to it? because i know that we drained all the coolant and the car hasnt got hot enough for coolant to enter the system. Could this be the problem?

There is a sensor on the AAC that when hooked still won't work correctly, you have to run a bolt through it and ground it. My brother had that same problem on his NX. It is the High Idle Control connection that does it.

You must be mixing up part names. The AAC unit does not have any contact with coolant. It is located on the side of the intake manifold plenum.

the aac is behind the first cylinder right? i thought coolant lines were right there with it

Have you tried to adjust the idle via the idle screw? You have to be in timing mode to adjust the idle though.

the tps is fine, i check the voltage yesterday.
Its not:
Tps
Timing
o2 sensor

The only other thing it can be is the aac (i think) how do i check to make sure?
