Can a sr20de block girdle be used on a ve ? Does it need it? I am just thinking that the old design is stronger and nissan eliminated the girdle to cut cost. Installing one would be like insurance for your ve's bottom end.

yes the de girdle can be used, but so will the de main caps, oil pan and pickup. this will likely require a line bore of the crank journals. would be a lot easier/cheaper to put a ve head on a de block if you want this
