Has anyone experienced issues with the Autometer oil pressure gauges? Particually the sender? My very first one started getting real low readings and then eventually died. The replacement worked fine for a couple of months and is now showing signs of doing the same thing. Im almost 100% sure its not the oil pressure...I've been checking my dipstick religously ever since seeing those low readings..anyone?

Is it an electrical one? I've had mine for over 2 years, and no problems at all.

Same thing here. Make sure the power wire is not touching the wire coming from the sender, and the sender wire is not shorting out.

Mine is starting to get condensation inside and I've always been skeptical about it's readings. I mean, it reads 10-12psi at idle...sometimes lower. It's never gone above the 75 mark, even in this freezing ass weather.

Yeah its the electirical one. I tightend the nut holding the o-ring with the sensor wire to the sender when the problem orginally showed up and it fixed the issue. (there was a little play) Now the nut is as tight as it can be and for some reason the low readings are showing up again. It seems to be a intermintent problem at the moment but like I mentioned earlier my previous sender exhibited the exact same issues before crapping out. Seeing 35 psi oil pressure while cruising in a turbo car is pretty scary:(

Strange problem you have, check to make sure its not touching any electrical connections like Eric said. I had a problem with the sender wire coming off the sender, and the gauge just started going crazy, scared the shit out of me!

Don't sweat it. I'm on my second sending unit. The first started bouncing around from 0 to 50 then finally died. They set me a replacement no problem. The electical connection is crap. Tighten it too much and you break it off inside.

Mine reads on the 37.5psi mark cruising at 3300rpm. Just under 50psi at start up with 10w-30. I'm not losing oil between changes and the turbo hasn't died, so I'm not too concerned. If my oil pressure is low, what could I do? Rebuild the motor? Forget that. Drive it 'til it dies and get another motor ;)

Cheers,
Charlie :)

My electrical oil pressure guage reads real low when the car is fully warmed up and the oil is hot. It is waay off of the factory specs. But I do have a baseline to read off. When the oil is hot it can read very low.
