My stick just started not staying locked in postision. The gears still catch, the car is still drivable, but while the car is in gear, i can move the stick around like its in neutral. WHAT IS THIS PROBLEM???????:mad:

Sounds like the nut fell off the other end. Do you have an aftermarket short shifter?

yea, sure do. Should i even drive my car? Any nut fallin off doesn't sound good.

You just need to run to the hardware store and grab a new nut and nylon washer for the end of the shifter.

Look up a thread in the 200sx forum for short throw shifters, you should find what size you need. Also try and use the word loc-tite, it came up in the thread. Hope this helps!

I have a B&m short throw and I'm pretty sure a nut hasn't fallen off but when I'm cruisen between 3000 and 3500 rpm it vibrates and rattles or something I dont think its the shift knob but if anyone else has experienced this problem and fixed it please let me know

The vibration is somewhat normal since its not a cable driven shifter like a honda, but if its excessive it could be worn mounts.
