Hey I was wondering if anybody knows exactly what causes the 92 SE-R's to pull to the right when driving. I have just gotten the car aligned and it still has this problem. I know there was a TSB released for this problem as it is under the known problems on se-r.net but what does the TSB state as the problem?

Did you get a four wheel alignment? Do you have crash bolts? What is the condition of your tires? Have you inspected your front and rear wheel bearings?

Check your control arm bushings, front and rear.

Can you post your before/after alignment specs?

Do you have a print-out from the alignment?
Check the numbers and see if the left and the right are matching.

I also have a 92 SE-R and mine pulls to the right too after three different alignments in the 5 months I've owned it!

In fact, I just had it back at NTB again last night. (Gotta love NTB's 5000mi alignment warranty...) Well, it was pretty much within spec again. They keep insisting that it's a tire issue. So they offered to swap my tires around again. No dice. It still pulls to the right as hard as ever.

Here's a thread I put up a few weeks ago with my problem and my current alignment spec...

http://www.sr20deforum.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=34859&highlight=alignment

My specs:
Front...............L.................R........... ........Spec
Camber:.......-0.6°...........-1.1°............-1° to 0°30'
Toe-in:..........0.02°...........0.01°...........1 to 3mm (.04 to .12in)
Caster:..........1.6°.............1.0°............ 0°40' to 2°10'

Rear.................L.................R.......... .........Spec
Camber:.........-1.0°..........-1.4°.............-1°40' to -0°10'
Toe-in:............0.15°.........0.11°.............-1 to 3mm (-.04 to .12in)

I would love to know if there was a TSB about this.

When I've been playing around with my alignment I've found that its better to have the camber the same. Not just within spec, but the same.

I had the same problem, Multiple alignments didn't help at all. I swapped the tires right to left last week and now the car pulls the other way so now I'm thinking its screwed up rim. It's probably worth checking on yours... Also if anyone is selling a p10 G20 rim pm me...

It was a 4 wheel alignment I did not get a print out of the alignment specs. It was my uncles lexus shop and I know he does quality alignments as they deal with lowered cars and cars with Camber Plates as well as Lexuses. I gave him the factory alignment specs and before, the car pulled more than it does now but it still pulls. Originally my front tires wore to the chords on the innner edges so I knew my Camber was way off. Now I have no idea what the hell it could be. I havent checked my control arm bushings but they cant be that bad as the car only has 60k miles on it and the suspension is still pretty firm.

This is true. Since Andrew's car has more camber on the right then of course the car will pull to the right. That makes sense right? It wouldn't hurt to have the camber and toe matching on both sides. Go back to the shop and ask them to make it identical, then post your results.

That's good to ask, but don't be surprised if they tell you to jump off a cliff.

There is no factory camber alignment option. And I'll tell you now that I had an alignment guy spend 3 hours trying to get camber out of my fronts (w/ stock spring perches...) and couldn't get closer than a half degree between the two.

Tires, bad roads or just a bad alignment.

After they do the alignment, have them adjust the toe to the side in which the car is pulling. That is a "cheaters way" to solve a pulling problem. If you have been driving on these tires for a while without a proper alignment it can be your tires.
Swap front to back and see what happens.

Ever think that is can be your brake rotors that are warped causing the car to pull to one side?

One more thing, if this is a non airbag car, take off the steering wheel and re-adjust it to make it pull straight.

Does the car pull when you release the wheel and let it drive itself or when you straighten the wheel?

60K, yeah, but on an 11 year old car.
I still think you need to swap front to back.

They are brand new tires which I got when I aligned the car which was less that 100 miles ago. It pulls when I release the wheel. When I go to answer the phone or light a ciggy in which I take my hands off the wheel for a second and a half/ 2 seconds tops it starts to slowly at first pull to the right and the longer I let it go the harder it pulls.

To test this, couldn't we just switch the rotors and see what happens? If it continues to pull then maybe the caliper pins are sticking on one side?

Great that I found this thread. I aligned the car this morning. It pulls to the right, mine on the left was off like -2, I had the motor swap so everything underneath came out.
Anyway, after blow 70 bones on the alignment, it still pulls to the right. 2 months ago, my car was align it was fine. It pull to the right just like screamingorgasm. This is annoying.

I had this issue too. It happened the same day I bought a new set of proxes. Within 6 weeks the tire shop aligned me twice, another shop aligned me, and then a third. The third was a profesional, said to be the best in CA. He told me the tires were defective.

I bought some potenzas, put them on and the problem was gone. The original shop would not take them back, so the're sitting in the garage with 1k miserable miles on them that cost me $400.

Yeah everyone stop wasting your money on alignments. Just swap the tires left to right and if it pulls in the opposite direction it seems to me it must be either the tire or the rim.

Those Toyo's should have a factory warranty. I would not accept the fact that "they wouldn't take them back"! Raise a stink, go above heads, then go above those heads...it's not your fault they sold you defective tires.

Although, in the end, you may have to take it up with Toyo. I'm sure they would want a satisfied customer.

I have had the same problem with pulling to the right. Weird tugging of the wheel when accelerating things like that. Bought some used Dunlop D40's with rims and it was fixed. Seems these cars are really sensitive when it comes to tire selection.
