I am looking to get a steering wheel for my car, and I am looking into Grant, for price and availability. Well when I went to the local parts store that sells Grant products, the computer asked if I had cruise control. I said told them yes, but I would be keeping it out of the car cause it doesn't work. So he looked it up as if I didn't have cruise, and got a part number. GREAT, but I didn't have money on me to order so I told him I would hold off a couple more days. Well I went back in today to order, and on a hunch, asked him for the part number of the one with cruise, and they didn't have one. The guy understandably didn't want to order it in fear that it wouldn't work, and I told him that I would email Grant. Here is my Email: : I have a 1992 Nissan Sentra SE-R, and I want to put a steering wheel into it. I was at an Auto Zone, and we looked up the part number for the installation kit, and we found a kit for a car without cruise control, but not one with cruise control. My question is, will the one without cruise control work on my car? The cruise control does not work, so I will not be reinstalling it. The car also does not have an air bag, if it matters. Help me if you can, I am very interested in using your products.

Thanks
Adam

And here is there Answer: If the cruise control is on the wheel there is no way you can install our kit on the car because the hub will not bottom out plus, there will be no way to hook up the turn signal nor the horn. And as law regulations you need to have those thing functional. Sorry but we do not make anything that will help yo install the wheel. But if your car does not have the cruise on the wheel it will work with no problems.

Now I can understand the horn problem, but I am sure there is a way to hard wire it or something. But what is the deal with the Turn Signals? Why would I not have turn signals? Any suggestions? The more and more I look into this, I should just save a little longer and get a MOMO or Sparco wheel, but the way this guy is talking, there is nothing in the world that will work due to the fact of me having cruise control.

Im guessing b/c the cruise is sometimes mounted on the turn signal. I would think it would work, but im not sure. Arnt the steering wheels the same? I thought the cruise unit was mounted sorta to the side of the horn on the wheel.
